Join Expressive Arts Florida Institute Students
and Faculty, under the guidance of
 

at North Lido Beach on
Saturday April 12 at 6-7 pm
for some collaborative sand mandala making!
Using natural materials from the beach, everyone is invited to participate in the creation of art in the sand.  Free and open to everyone of all ages!

Enjoy the natural beauty of the Gulf of Mexico, connect with good company, and share in a group intention.

Cynthia and Muff have been facilitating community beach mandala-making for the past 2 years.

Park at the beach access at North Lido and look
for our group just to the north.
(Remember, it is "season", so allow extra time for traffic and for finding a parking space)

Cynthia Bydlinski is a graduate of the Art and Healing Certificate Program at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL.  Her background in nonprofit community involvement and partnership building have created a solid foundation for her work as an art and healing facilitator.  Introducing creative expression to a variety of client populations, Cynthia has conceived and presented Defying Gravity an eight week program focusing on imaginative art explorations for residents in a Sarasota long-term care facility; co-facilitated with Marcia Calderon Celebrating Your Tribe: Connecting to Community and Your Place Within It a workshop
for veterans through Goodwill Manasota and Girl Scout Friendship Circles, creating mandalas from objects found in nature at Camp Honi Hanta.  She is currently facilitating a weekly expressive arts series incorporating music, gentle movements and visual art-making for women living with dementia at the Senior Friendship Center in Sarasota.

Marcia "Muff" Calderon is a graduate of the Art & Healing Certificate program at Ringling College of Art & Design 2011. She brings 30+ years of meditation and spiritual study into her Art & Healing Facilitation.  Co-creating with Cynthia "Celebrating Your Tribe": (Connecting to Community & Your Place in it ) and presenting it at Expressive Arts FL monthly networking ,was one of many collaborations they have done together. (Co-Facilitating with Veterans, families, & the Girl Scouts. )

She has experience at Rehab and Long Term Care facilities, facilitating Art & Healing workshops for Patients as well as" Art at the Bedside". Her dog "Charlie Ann" and she have done pet therapy at Rehab facilities, local schools and the public library.

  

The Certificate Training Program of Expressive Arts Florida Institute prepares participants to bring the power of the Expressive Arts into their professional and personal lives. The group that will be participating in the beach mandala process are here in Sarasota, from all over the U.S., for a weekend intensive entitled "Expressive Arts in the World".
