Hello Expressive Arts Friends and Happy to New Year!
MG_EAFI_110 EAFI_120 logo_cropped bodymindspiritmandalas
What is Expressive Arts all about?
Do you find yourself drawn to explore this field, but are not sure how, or whether it is right for you? Are you longing to bring your creativity more fully into your life
- either personally or professionally - or both?
At Expressive Arts Florida Institute we refer to Expressive Arts as "creative life skills for personal, professional and social change".

A more complete definition is offered by IEATA, (International Expressive Arts Therapy Association) - the professional organization that guides this field.

"The expressive arts combine the visual arts, movement, drama, music, writing and other creative processes to foster deep personal growth.... By integrating the arts processes and allowing one to flow into another, we gain access to our inner resources for healing, clarity, illumination and creativity." International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (www.ieata.org)

As we move in to 2013, we are offering several pathways for you to explore this field. Whether you would like a single workshop, a series, or a complete training program, we hope you will find what you are looking for!

In this issue of e-news, we are publishing our schedule for January through April, 2013. There is a lot of information packed in, so you may want to bookmark this page for future reference. You will also receive e-mail notices about individual offerings.

We are very excited about some brand new classes and workshops, as well as our "regulars".  Our goal is to offer something for everyone, and we invite you to let us know what you would  like, as your input helps us plan.

We are getting excited about the next
 IEATA Conference
"Expressive Arts and the Winds of Change"
in March 2013!
We are excited to be presenting a workshop that focuses on our
IMAGINE Project!
Hope to see many of you there!

Here is another wonderful video from Playing for Change!
Take a few minutes to watch and notice any changes in your mood / attitude / stress level....
The arts have the power to create real change - both personal and social.

Be sure to check out all the Playing for Change videos as well.

Healing Communities through the Arts, April 11-12, 2013, in Washington, DC, USA.

This conference will focus on programs and initiatives that expand arts and health beyond healthcare settings and into communities, because, like individual patients, whole communities face stressful circumstances that can benefit from the arts.
