Hello, Expressive Arts Friends!
top

October was most certainly a month of fullness and depth at Expressive Arts Florida!
We welcomed the wonderful EAFI students for two rich weekend intensives. Our Level 2 course- Expressive Arts: The Business and Profession - marked the last residential course requirement for seven students. This is a milestone; they have just their Internship remaining before they each attain their Level Two Certificate! Lots of laughter and tears, of course, as they have shared so much together, and with us! We are very grateful!

Additional photos of October EAFI courses here!

PCW_1

Saturday  December 1

10 am - 5 pm

 creativewild

$85 plus $15 supply fee per session

We will tap into and unearth our playful yet wise creative inner child as a way to engage and balance our full potential for wholeness and happiness. We will be working from our INNER CORE to our OUTER EDGE, journeying inward then outward, using the creative edge as a holding point for new awareness. We will focus on the following prompts as we explore our own life goal.

*How do I Identify my inner wild?     * What place does it hold in my life?

*How do I balance it all in a comfortable and positive way?

In this workshop series we will go to the periphery of our creative edge, challenge our comfort zone, and see what comes next. By opening up to those things that seem just beyond our reach, and exploring them through the art process we are able to gain a new awareness of ourselves and our life path. This exploration often gives new insights into our inner and outer worlds and assists us in merging the two.

Participants will paint on a large canvas using acrylics. Focusing on a particular intention, participants will be led through a centering exercise, do some spontaneous writing, and painting exploration.

We will create in a studio atmosphere and Victoria will mentor along the way, both individually and as a group.

Large canvas, basic acrylic paints and brushes are supplied.
Participants may bring their own acrylics and brushes to supplement ours.

LEVEL TWO

Jan. 17-20, 2013: Expressive Arts - Foundations

Expressive Arts Florida Institute is a two-level training program for those interested in pursuing the Expressive Arts as a professional path, whether integrating it into an existing career, or beginning a career in the expressive arts field.

An INTERMODAL EXPRESSIVE ARTS TRAINING PROGRAM, Expressive Arts Florida Institute is grounded in a firm belief that an integrated arts approach is a powerful agent of change. Students will participate in visual art-making of various kinds, writing, poetry, music, movement, drama, and guided visualization. An emphasis will be on the power of following the natural creative flow from one arts modality to another.

The learning format is THREE WEEKEND INTENSIVE COURSES per calendar year, generally in January, April, and October in Sarasota, FL. Each weekend is 25 hours of class time. In addition, there is a one-day orientation program for new students. There are also elective credits, which students can often earn in their own community, online communication with an advisor, and a Practicum/Internship at the end of the second year.  We offer flexibility for entry of new students; they may start the program with any of the Level 1 weekend intensives. Our goal is to create a FLEXIBLE LEARNING FORMAT for students traveling to Sarasota from out of the area.

Here is a little video that we have created to introduce you to our program......

Being Your Own Village

Expressive Arts Workshop

Cynthia Bydlinski & Marcia Calderon

Sunday, November 18

10am-4pm

$90

Please register by Sunday Nov. 11

 village

Most of us have an intense desire to feel like we are being the best person we can be, that we are fulfilling our destiny and that our lives have purpose and meaning.  At the heart of this desire is understanding and embracing who we are and what strengths we possess.

"Being Your Own Village" is a day-long expressive arts workshop designed to encourage you to maintain or regain power through your life's journey by celebrating your inner strengths.

You may know the old proverb, "it takes a village to raise a child".

Being Your Own Village honors the assistance and guidance you receive from others, however, listening to and following your own inner voice of intuition is an acknowledgment of your natural ability to steer the course of your life's direction.

By using multiple modalities of visual art, spontaneous writing, gentle movement and sound we will lead you inward to connect with your own source of wisdom, power and peace.  After a guided meditation you will spend the afternoon creating a 3-D art piece that reflects and celebrates your personal inner strengths.

Join Cynthia and Muff in a safe space as you begin to lift the layers of your inner landscape to feel, see and listen to what is beneath.   All levels of art experience are welcome, including beginners, working artists, and people who think they aren't creative. The atmosphere will be safe and accepting; no critiques or interpretations.

Basic art materials will be supplied.  You will be asked to bring objects found in nature or in your home.

Register here by Nov. 11, or mail your check to Expressive Arts Florida, 200 S. Washington Blvd, Suite 1, Sarasota, FL, 34236
