"FALL FESTIVAL"
It is almost time again for one of our biggest
events of the year! The Woodlawn Fall Festival will be at Aaron Bessant Park, in Pier Park, from 10am till 2pm on Saturday, November 7th.

Last year approximately 4,500 people came to this event. This is a day where the church has a chance to come together and share the love of Christ with our community!  We hope you can join us on the 7th!  It takes the full church working together to make this event possible so please be looking out for opportunities to get involved!
YOUTH SUNDAY WORSHIP - SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25TH
Sunday, October 25th is going to be an exciting opportunity in the life of Woodlawn. Come join us for one combined service on the main campus in the Worship Center as the Youth Ministries take charge in leading worship! If you attend W@W, then plan to join us after you attend worship at Sharky's that morning. If you attend Sunday School, we encourage you to meet early that Sunday so you will be available to support our youth on that day. If you normally attend 9FORTY, then come to the Woodlawn campus that morning instead of the High School. Power Up will meet at 10:00am in the Children's Building so if you have children that attend, leave them with Meagan and her staff and walk on over to the Worship Center.

If you have ever experienced our youth in leadership, then you already know to anticipate a great blessing from them on that Sunday. The worship service will begin at 10:00am in the Worship Center.
WOODLAWN WAY
Have you heard about The Woodlawn Way? This class guides people through a 4-part journey of understanding commitment to Christ, commitment to the Woodlawn community, and commitment to serving others. We have seen numerous people come to faith in Christ as well as connect with the Woodlawn family through church membership. In fact, since January, we have had more than 60 people join our family!

You might ask yourself, "Why does the church value formal membership?" There are several reasons but the most important reason to us at Woodlawn is to reach as many people for Christ as we can. Church membership allows us the opportunity to share the Gospel with people seeking to be part of a church family.

The Woodlawn Way has proven to be a concise and effective way to learn all about faith in Christ and how to be part of the Woodlawn family. Who can attend? Anyone! You may be a longtime member of Woodlawn or just starting to explore our church. Either way, you are welcome! Come find out what God has in store for you through The Woodlawn Way!

Here are some upcoming dates where you can connect:
October 21st & 28th, 6-8pm (both classes required)
October 24th, 8am-1pm
November 14th, 8am-1pm
December 5th,  8am-1pm

CHRISTMAS MUSICAL
Coming soon in the month of December is, "A Woodlawn Christmas" featuring the Chancel Choir with orchestra.  This seasonal message in music from the album, "A Brooklyn Tabernacle Christmas" is going to be very different and exciting for our church and the Panama City/Beach area!

As we prepare for this ministry event in the life of our church, all singers, trained and untrained, are invited to join the Chancel Choir to assist with making this musical extra special. Joining the choir is easy -  just show up on Wednesday night at 5:30pm in the Choir Room each week for rehearsal.

After a devotional and prayer time at the end of rehearsal, we will dismiss promptly at 7:00pm. If you have children or youth in Wednesday night ministries, then come join us. If you are a Sr. High youth not involved on Wednesday programs and you want to sing, come join us. There are no requirements to join us, but now is the time since rehearsal for Christmas has begun.

The Chancel Choir will also host a retreat the first weekend in October to spend some focused rehearsal time on the music for Christmas.

As we prepare for this event, we are  also in need of instrumentalists.

For more information  about joining the choir, the October retreat, or auditioning for a place in the orchestra,  contact Bill Small  at (850)234-3196 or  [email protected]
PROJECT MERRY CHRISTMAS
It's time once again for "Project Merry Christmas". For the 21st year our Woodlawn family will be providing needy children in our beach schools with gifts under their Christmas trees. There are several ways you can participate in this special ministry project.

Donate funds- Contributions of any amount will be used to purchase gifts for the children (please mark your donation for Project Merry Christmas)
Sponsor a child or children- You will be assigned a child or children and you will purchase gifts for approximately $100 per child.

Be a shopper- Shop for a child or children with donations others have made.
Sign up forms are available at the Project Merry Christmas display at each worship service. We hope your family will take this opportunity to share Christ and Christmas with those children who are less fortunate.

Thank you for helping put smiles on little faces on Christmas Morning!

CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER KIDS CORNER
The start of our new school year has been wonderful! We've welcomed back our students and staff, and have also added some new faces. We recently began our first week of music classes led by our enrichment coordinator, Cassidy Hasty. The kids love it and are so engaged in each class! She is using the curriculum Music for Little Mozarts to teach singing, rhythm, instruments, dance, and listening skills. We hope to instill a love for music in each child's life and want to honor Wesley Burnham and the love that he had for music.

Along with music, we also started "Pennies from Heaven" where we are encouraging our children and families to donate change in honor of Wesley and to support the CDC. It's a great way to teach the kids to give and to bless others.

If you would like to donate, the jar is on the brown table in the education wing. Lastly, we would like to thank Fresh Market, Winn Dixie, and everyone who has supported our school whether it be financially, your time and resources, or prayers. We greatly appreciate it! You are helping us make a difference in the lives of so many!
