The Church of St. Ignatius of Antioch*
552 West End Avenue (enter on West 87th Street)
Composed during 1635-1636, Heinrich Schultz's rich and solemn Musikalische Exequien were commissioned for the funeral services of Henry Posthumous Reuss, Count of Gera. The texts include scripture, quotes from St. Augustine, and meditations by Martin Luther and other reformers.

*St. Ignatius of Antioch was built in 1901-2 and was designed by architect Charles Coolidge Haight with interior work by Ralph Adams Cram. St. Ignatius is a NYC Landmark, designated in 2012 as part of the extended Riverside-West End Historic District.
