Parnes Hayom

Parnes Hayom is an opportunity to dedicate a day, a week or a month for Torah study at Yeshivat Noam.  Sponsorships may be in honor of a special individual or occasion, in memory of a dear friend or loved one, a birth, anniversary, birthday, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, graduation, wedding or Yahrzeit.  Parnes Hayom is also a meaningful way to pray for a refuah shleimah, or mark any other significant occasion.  On the specific day of the dedication of learning, the name of the donor, along with the name of those being honored or memorialized, will be posted and announced.
  • Thursday December 4 - Wednesday December 10 is sponsored by Shifra and Daniel Bendheim and Family n memory of Mr. Avrum Drazin, z''l, Grandfather of Charlie (YN '14) Sam (7B2), Leebee (4D), and Arielle (KE) to commemorate the shloshim.

One Call Now Reminder

as we head into the Winter Season...

To sign up to receive texts from YN, please text the word ALERT to 22300.

Please sign up separately from each of the individual cellphone numbers that you wish to receive the alerts.

Please note that we will only use your cell numbers for emergencies and other important information, such as school closings and other weather related notices. Since not everyone will be signed up to receive text messages, we will always follow a text message with an immediate phone call. (Therefore, if you receive a text message, feel free to assume the phone call immediately following is a repetition of that message.)

In non emergency situations (event announcements etc.) only your home phone will receive a call, unless you request otherwise.

Parent School Partnership

The PSP Parent Education Committee is proud to present our second series of the year entitled:

Tricks, Loopholes, and Legal Fictions: Does Halacha Allow Us to Deceive G-d?
given by Rabbi Uri Goldstein.

Join us for five shiurim which will explore some practices that are built into the Halachic system that seem designed to circumvent that system by relying on a technicality, a trick, or a loophole within the law. This series of shiurim will explore when and why the Halacha allows for these loopholes. In addition to understanding their theoretical background, we will also travel through different places and period of Jewish History, and examine the Halachic and historical circumstances behind circumstances three famous and controversial loopholes: The Prozbul, the sale of Chametz and the sale of the Land of Israel during a Shemita year.

Rabbi Uri Goldstein, a proud Noam parent,  is the spiritual leader of Congregation Ahavat Achim in Fair Lawn, NJ. He has taught Jewish Studies and history at the Frisch School and Ma'ayanot, and currently teaches at Heichal Hatorah. Rabbi Goldstein also serves as a translator and editor of the Koren Talmud Bavli.

The weekly shiur takes place on Tuesdays at 9:45 am in the Middle School Beit Knesset.
Please note: all shiurim will be stand-alone sessions. One need not attend all sessions offered in a particular series!
For more information, please contact Talia Marmon or Lena Goffstein

In case you missed it, now you can listen to this popular shiur on the YN website!

Bnai Mitzvah Chessed Projects

From Ayelet Schochet: I am celebrating my bat mitzvah this year! Instead of having a party, my mother and I are running a half-marathon together in Miami, Florida. We are raising money for children with cancer. All the money we raise for this race will go towards an amazing organization called Chai Lifeline. Please consider sponsoring us. Each and every dollar helps.
