From the Gym Teacher

As the weather gets warmer, this is a friendly reminder of the requirements for participation in physical education (PE).  All students are required to wear sneakers during PE and any students with hair that passes their shoulders should have it up and out of their face in a ponytail.  When the hair is not up and out of their face, vision may become impaired.

Proper sneakers are the best for supporting, stabilizing and cushioning the ankles and feet of your child(ren).  These types cover the whole foot and have laces or Velcro straps (two or more).  Examples of footwear that would be unacceptable would be boots, platforms, flats, slip-ons, or shoes with open toes. If there is a time your child will not be wearing sneakers (lost sneaker, outgrown sneakers) please either send a note or email our PE instructor Giuseppe Giurlanda at ggiurlanda@yeshivatnoam.org  to explain the situation.

The days your child(ren) have PE are listed below:

Monday - 1A, 5G, 4A, kD, 3B, 2A

Tuesday - kA, 2B, 3A, kB, 1B, 5A, 4B

Wednesday - 5D, 4D, 1D, kG, 3G, 2D

Thursday - 3D, 2G, kH, 1G, 5B, 4C

We want to ensure the safety and physical development of all students.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mr. Giurlanda.

From the Nurse - Vision Screenings

As per New Jersey state requirement, all students in grades K, 2, 4, 6, and 8 must have an eye exam for visual acuity. Screenings are being conducted in school  for students whose results we do not have on their health record. We would like to thank Optometrist Dr. Maty Youngewirth who has generously volunteered her services to perform these visual screenings at school.

Bnai Mitzvah Chessed Projects

Kayla Stelzer - For my bat mitzvah chessed project I am collecting bar/bat mitzvah party favor give-aways (such as hats, LED necklaces, glasses, wands, etc.) in reusable condition (not glow items that no longer light up).  I will recycle these items that are sitting in the back of your closet by giving them to kids in Israel and local hospitals to cheer them up.  If you have any favors to donate (from your party or someone else's), please drop off in green drop off box in front of the elementary and middle school offices. Any drop-offs made before February 14th will be distributed in Israel at Beit Elazraki and Shalva this Adar!
