Chadashot: What's New at BYDS?

BYDS Ready to Shop:

Tuesday's Preview Night

to Launch The Market

The Pulaski-Rauch Auditorium and Stein Hall will be transformed next Tuesday evening and Wednesday throughout the day for The Market, the totally enhanced shopping fundraiser extravaganza. Market Co-Chairs Brenlee Selchen and Julie Levine have amassed a record number of vendors and have also expanded the shopping experience with a special Preview Night that kicks off at 6pm on Tuesday, October 23.

On top of the shopping and the support it means for the school's PTO, the event this year has taken on a community service focus, with a huge school Food Drive supporting the Houston Food Bank. There are so many cool vendors this year--you can check them out by visiting The Market's facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/themarket2012.

The Express is happy to present a couple of these vendors for you right here:

Urban Izzy offers a unique and eclectic collection of items from local artisans and designers.

Cru Home carries unique one of a kind furniture, home decor and gifts that you will not find anywhere else!

BYDS Admissions Open House

Family Open House Date Announced:

BYDS to Host Admissions Event

Sunday, November 11, 4pm-6pm with Free Pizza!

The BYDS admissions outreach team, including members of our BYDS Parent Ambassadors, is enthusiastically planning for a big Family Open House event for all prospective parents. The admissions event will take on a new welcoming approach this year-the doors will open up on a Sunday afternoon, with pizza, refreshments, and a chance to tour throughout the school facility and meet teachers, parents, and staff. It will actually be a two-part Open House, with part one being a Sunday afternoon pizza and walk-through geared toward families who want to check out our Early Childhood or Elementary School Program. Then, part two will take place on Monday, November 12 and on Wednesday, November 14, when BYDS opens its doors for official tours at 9:00am and 10:00am on both those dates, with an opportunity to observe the regular school day in action.

We look forward to seeking your volunteer help with one or more of these welcoming events. We are expressly inviting all of our Early Childhood families who are looking ahead to elementary school for their children. For more information, or to learn how you can help out, contact Julie Bortnick in our Admissions Office at 713-666-1884.

Important Reminder - Carpool Safety

Parents: Please stay in your car and let safety patrol take the children out.
