Storm Water Tip
of the Month
Provided by the City of Buellton
Storm Water Tip of the Month
Clean grease traps at least once a week.  Do not pour grease into trash bins, street gutters, storm drains or sewers.  Grease can clog sewer and storm drain lines causing blockage and spills.  It is ILLEGAL to put anything but rain down the storm drain.  Collect bulk grease in containers for proper disposal.  Make sure to keep grease containers in a secure area with lids closed.  This prevents rain water from washing food waste into the storm drain and keeps birds and pests from scattering trash.
Water Conservation
Refresh your understanding of your City's Drought Conditions which may include but not limited to:
 Irrigating during the designated hours
 Not creating excess runoff
Broom sweep around buildings and hardscapes such as sidewalks and driveways
Use cash washes
Immediately fixing known leaks
Serve water to customers upon request.

Here's what a recent Travel Blogger had to say about Buellton

Katherine Belarmino and her husband Romeo recently visited Buellton to "Eat, Stay and Play".  They are travel writers that we connected with at one of the trade shows we attend to promote Buellton. A big thank you to all of the businesses that accommodated them with "Buellton" hospitality.  Read what they had to say about Buellton at Travel The World.

Pet of the Month
Cheddar  Domestic Short hair  Orange Tabby  1 yrs. Male
Cheddar has always been a sensitive soul.  He was here as a kitten and got adopted but returned when owner had to move.  Even when afraid, he's still very sweet.  His best home now would be fairly quiet.  Older kids would be best but the young would be ok provided they were instructed on how to interact with him.  The last thing he needs is to go into a home where he feels the need to hide.  With a little coaxing, Cheddar could be a little love who is a part of the family and sharing laps.  This is what this little orange guy deserves.  Cheddar is microchipped and weighs 8lbs.
