The Buellton Chamber along with help from the Purple Clovers 4-H club served up a scrumptious dinner at the Buellton Senior Center on March 24th. It was so much fun seeing our future leaders enjoying the company of members of our senior community. These energetic youth were polite, respectful and so excited to be helping. As the cake was being served for dessert, several diners passed up their cake. One of the 4-H ers, said with astonishment, "Not everyone wants their cake!" "That's ok, I replied. "That just leaves more for us." He smiled, but I could tell that he just didn't understand why they would not want to eat cake. Adorable!
Here's the recipe so many requested from the dinner. Simple easy and delicious.
If you would like to volunteer to help our senior community, contact Pam Gnekow and she will let you know of all of the opportunities available. It will be a truly rewarding experience.

Thank you SYV Humane Society
Emily Grossheider and the fabulous staff at the Humane Society welcomed us for the March mixer. We were treated to tours, and to the delight of many, saw 6 week old puppies and kittens that were still being bottle fed. We also learned that the Humane Society has partnered with People Helping People to help provide dog and cat food for those in need. Their clinic is now offering teeth cleaning for dogs and cats at substantially reduced prices. Items on their wish list include, towels and blankets, sturdy kennel toys and a donated van to transport animals. You can also help by becoming a volunteer or by donating items to the Treasures Thrift store that supports the Humane Society. Thank you to the Humane Society for all they do for our furry friends.
