I am too positive to be doubtful. Too optimistic to be fearful, and too determined to be defeated.

Greetings!
Fibs, Fabrications and Falsehoods
The Buellton Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau passionately promotes Buellton's business climate and markets the city for tourism and commerce. In prior years we sponsored a candidate forum to help you decide on city council representatives. This year we felt it was important to remain neutral and not conduct the forum since two of our own board members are seeking election to city council. Although Ron Anderson's name will appear on the ballot, he is not actively running and asks you to not vote for him. We thank the League of California Cities, Helene Schneider-Mayor of Santa Barbara for moderating, and Councilmember Holly Sierra for organizing and conducting this forum.
Due to the misleading and untruthful campaign tactics of Judith Dale, Mark Preston, and Tom Widroe we now feel it is our duty as your Chamber to alert you. They have all targeted your Chamber and Visitors Bureau and made it their top campaign pledge to defund the Visitors Bureau. They have actually stated that they do not believe in the benefits of marketing our city to improve tourism and business. Judith Dale has stated, "What's to market in Buellton?" Mark Preston's comments, "we could reduce to zero the funding for the Visitors Bureau and people would still come" and "Buellton is just over 1 square mile, we don't need to market it" are obvious examples of not understanding the importance of this investment in our community and we feel the business community should take this as a personal affront. Tom Widroe wanted to bid on the contract to operate the Visitor's Bureau, yet he now states there is no reason to market Buellton. Misleading and false information intended as scare tactics are printed on flyers supporting Dale, Widroe & Preston in their campaign against the Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.
It is critical for you to take the time in this very important election to get to know the positions of each of the candidates and vote for those that believe in supporting the local business economy. Buellton is at a crossroads and on the verge of some terrific success with new businesses and hotels that chose our town because of the efforts of your Chamber/Visitors Bureau and the inviting business climate. Dan Baumann (General Manager at Flying Flags RV Resort) and Joe Padilla (VP for Terravant Wine Company) have both served local business interest as directors on the board of the Buellton Chamber of Commerce and Visitor's Bureau.
We will continue to deliver you the truth and stand by our community. We believe in Buellton. Do you? Thank you for your continued support.

THANK YOU
It was a great evening as Chamber members and friends "fell in love" with the new residents at Valley Pets.
Valley Pets believes that responsible pet owners should have an opportunity to choose what breed & breed characteristics they desire in their next companion animal. They have a great selection of purebred AKC registered puppies and healthy designer breeds in the store to choose from. Come meet your next family member today! Valley Pets will groom any breed of dog and are one of the only places in Santa Barbara County that will groom your cats too! Canine and feline nutrition is one of the specialties Valley Pets. They carry the GO! & NOW! dry foods made by Petcurean. Matt wants your pets to "thrive" rather than "survive". Grain Free, GMO Free and NOTHING FROM CHINA is what they strive to provide to your pets and ours. They pride themselves on having a knowledge base in nutrition. Creating a solid foundation is important for your pets overall well being. Your best friend is in good hands with Valley Pets.

Thank you to our members who continue to support our raffle.
