With our busy lives it may be challenging to find time to volunteer. However the benefits to you, and your community are enormous.  It is what unites a community and sparks community spirit. We have a beautiful botanic garden right here in Buellton all because of volunteers that had a vision and came together to make it happen.  We have an off leash dog park that was once again the vision of volunteers and they found a way to have it come to fruition. Other people choose to volunteer at events around the valley. The Buellton Wine and Chili Fest and the Buellton Brew Fest are successful revenue streams for our local hotels, businesses, and restaurants.  These events did not just happen, they happened because of people that freely gave their time to make sure everything went off without a hitch.

Volunteering also improves physical well being. Studies have shown that volunteering can reduce heart rate and blood pressure, enhance your immune system and increase endorphin production.  Volunteering encourages friendships that buffer against stress and can help combat depression and isolation.

Here's some ideas where you can help out, reap the benefits and bring some joy to others.  Consider volunteering at the botanic garden, meals on wheels, your local humane society, the food bank, Paws park, the local thrift stores or the library.

Don't wait another minute to volunteer your time. The life you change might just be your own.

Buellton Chamber June Mixer at

Standing Sun Wines

92 Second Street

June 18th  5-7 PM.

John and Laura Wright have invited us back again to enjoy their wines and the wonderful ambiance at their tasting room in Buellton.  This is your chance to enjoy the exhibit they have in their recently opened art gallery, with Gino and Siri Hollander. They will also be giving away tickets to their next concert featuring the Defibrillators.

Our Mixers offer a great way to network and meet fellow members and members of our community.  We encourage you to bring business cards because you never know who you might meet and want to do business with.  Also, another way to promote your business is to donate an item for our raffle drawing.  We always appreciate the generosity of our members and the recognition goes a long way when you put your name out there one more time.  Please contact the Chamber with any questions or to make a contribution to our raffle.

See you at Standing Sun
Thank you
Figueroa Mountain Brewing

The beer was flowing, the vibe was buzzing, and some great connections were made as we enjoyed the mixer at Fig in May.
Thank you to Jim Dietenhofer and David Esdaile for hosting a fun filled evening. Be sure to enjoy Quiz Night at Fig, Bocce Ball, Horseshoes, or just sit fireside under the stars.  It's a great place to escape the day to day routine. We're all anticipating the opening of Beto's Place so we can enjoy supper and suds.

We sincerely appreciate all our hosts do to make our members feel welcomed and provide a venue for networking to take place.  The winner of the Perpetual Drawing was SVY Computer Center.  They were not present so the Jackpot next month will be $75.

Thank you to our members who continue to support our raffle.
We truly appreciate your donations.

Business of the Month

Thank you for selecting Santa Barbara Airbus as the Member of the Month. We are excited to be a member of the Buellton Chamber.

I am Tim Onnen, the Operations General Manager at the

Santa Barbara Airbus. The Santa Barbara Airbus provides a variety of transportation options. Our core business is our shuttle service to LAX. In addition to the shuttle, we offer Private Charters, Day Trip Adventures and School Field trips. Santa Barbara Airbus is 31 years young. We have a fleet of 24 vehicles that include 21 passenger mini buses to 56 passenger tour coaches. We have a staff of around 50 strong.

If you have a friend, family, club or organization that has need for  transportation,  give us a call or visit our web site at www.sbairbus.com

I have called the central coast home since 1985.  I am a graduate of Cabrillo High, class of 1986.  I have attended SBCC, Hancock College and UCSB.  My wife Jennifer and I have lived in Buellton for the past 11 years. Our son Eli attends Oak Valley School.  I spend my spare time with family, my pets, or golfing.  You'll find me rooting for my favorite teams, the Dodgers, Lakers or the Raiders either at the stadium or at home with friends. I also enjoy supporting the Buellton community and recently volunteered at the Wine and Chili Fest and the Buellton Brew Fest.

Congratulations to
 Jeffrey Bastanchury

In November 2013, Jeffrey Bastanchury completed his Eagle Scout Service Project.
Jeffrey, with the help of several scouts in Troop 42 from Buellton, built and trekked in two benches for community use.  The first bench was delivered to Ray's Camp and the other to Manzana Camp.  Jeffrey began his project in June, starting with submitting his project plan for approval, fundraising, managing expenses to budget and organizing helpers to complete the project.

The Buellton Chamber of Commerce is the Charter organization for our local scouting program.  We are proud to be a part of this program and congratulate Jeffrey on his accomplishment.
Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society Pet of the Month

K.C.  Domestic Short hair  Black/White  7yrs.  M(N)

K.C. is a reserved cat on the outside and an affectionate loving cat on the inside. He comes from a senior's home where he lived a quiet life with several other cats. Now at the Humane Society, he prefers to stay tucked away where he can find solace from the sights and sounds that surround him. When the time is right, he ventures out of his room to delight in the affection of his caretakers. He offers a rub, arches his neck for a scratch and then sings a happy tune. His tunes are magnificent. If you prefer understated, K.C. may be the perfect match for you. Come meet him today.  K.C. is microchipped and weighs 11lbs.
