We hope you all enjoyed the recent rainfall.  Remember to conserve, we are still in a serious drought.

Each month at our mixers we place a donation box next to the bar area.  All the proceeds from that evening's donations go towards a non-profit here in Buellton.

Please free to chip in.

Buellton Rec Activities

Here's a couple of trips you won't want to miss.  Travel in style as the Buellton Rec bus travels to Ikea in Burbank, Camarillo Premium Outlets and the Rose Bowl Flea Market.  Call the Rec Center at 686-1086 for details and other activities.

Buellton Banners Have Arrived!
We're sprucing up the City with our new Banner Program.  Hope you enjoy the new look.

Greetings!

Well, March did come in like a lion, but we'll see if it goes out like a lamb.  The rain was certainly welcomed and hopefully there's a bit more on the way.

We're gearing up for a busy Spring with our two biggest events taking place just over a month apart.

The Buellton Wine & Chili Fest and the Buellton Brew Fest  are taking shape and should be great events this year.  We have extended both events into two days, with pairing dinners the evening before each of the events.

The Wine and Chili Fest Dinner will take place on March 22nd at Avant.  Dinner tickets are available online for $70.00 and will include a 4 course meal paired with a variety of wine.

The Buellton Brew Fest Dinner will take place on May 2nd at the Mendenhall Museum and will also feature a 4 course meal paired with a variety of Figueroa Mountain Brew.

These events take many hands to make them possible.  If you have a pair of hands and would like to volunteer, we would love to have your help.  Please contact the Chamber or visit the websites for these events to sign up as a volunteer.

You'll find more information on the full details for both of these events below.

Thank you for your continued support.

March 19th Mixer
at
Farm Supply 700
McMurray Rd. 5-7pm
We are looking forward to getting our Mixer season underway.  We'll be heading over to Farm Supply this month for a great evening in this beautiful facility.  Farm Supply carries everything for you and your pets and more.  Join us!
Our Mixers offer a great way to network and meet fellow members and members of our community.  We encourage you to bring business cards because you never know who you might meet and want to do business with.  Also, another way to promote your business is to donate an item for our raffle drawing.  We always appreciate the generosity of our members and the recognition goes a long way when you put your name out there one more time.  Please contact the Chamber with any questions or to make a contribution to our raffle.
Also, the perpetual drawing is going up, up, up.  Our Perpetual winner at the January Mixer was Ascendant Spirits, however Steve Gertman wasn't present. The pot this month will be $60.  Winner must be present to win, so one more reason to come to the mixer.

Buellton Wine & Chili Fest
March 23, 2014

Buellton Wine & Chili Festival returns to Flying Flags RV Park on Sunday, March 23, 2014.  So you think you can cook?  Well, come on out and show us.  COOKS WE NEED YOU!  It's not too early to start planning your Chili Recipe and your team.  You may also enter a salsa if you dare.  Cash prizes will be given to the winners and we promise you will have the time of your life at this fabulous Chamber Event!
What are you waiting for?  Check out all the details on our website.  If you don't want to cook, then why not be a sponsor?  We offer 3 levels of sponsorships and it may be cash or in kind sponsorship.  This was a great event in the inaugural year and we hope you will join us for an even bigger and better time this year.

Spring Ahead on March 8th
We may lose an hour of sleep but we gain more sunshine.  Move your clocks ahead on Saturday night.

 City Council Chatter

We are adding a new feature to the newsletter this month.  We'll be bringing you the highlights from the Buellton City Council meeting. We hope that you as Chamber members will be interested in the areas we feel are important.  The agenda item  we have highlighted this month is from the February 13th meeting. The Council discusses the possible need for a Board of Architectural Review Committee.  This discussion begins near the end of this link and resumes here.  The full audio is available at www.cityofbuellton.com.  We hope that you will take the time to listen.  Your voice matters, so if you have comments, please email your City Council members.

Buellton State of the City Wrap-up
The State of the City was held on February 26th at the Marriott in Buellton.  We learned that many exciting things are happening in Buellton.  If you weren't able to join us, here is the slide show presented by City Manager, Marc Bierdzinski.
A big thank you to Jack at the Marriott for helping the Chamber with the planning of the event.  Everything was perfect!

  • You'll wrap up with a final drill to practice everything you have learned throughout the course.

Dijon  Domestic Short-hair  Tabby-Brown  4 yrs.  M(N)

Dijon is in the cattery waiting to meet the family of his dreams. Meanwhile, he is making the most of his time. Peacefully perched in his favorite spot, he waits for you to admire his obvious beauty and charm. As you pet him, he closes his eyes and curls his toes in what can only be described as pure joy. Should you walk away before completing the necessary spa treatments, he may well follow you looking for more. He is not pushy, but his request will beckon you to continue where you left off.  Take him home today. You will both be glad you did.  Dijon is microchipped and weighs 12 lbs.
