Greetings!

Whether you like it or not, it's December!  Yep, it's the end of the year already.  I'm not sure who has the answer to, "Where did the time go?" and maybe we don't have the answer, but I can tell you, we've found time to pack in a ton of stuff this past year.  The Board of Directors has had a very busy year creating new events, making important decisions, and they continue to keep Buellton and our members their number one priority.  I am so thankful for their energy and dedication they have given this year.  Our hope is to continue to grow our Chamber and move forward with purpose.  We are proud of who we are and what we have accomplished and take our positions very seriously.   As we look forward to the New Year, we do so with open eyes, open ears, and open minds to new beginnings, positive changes, and a greater community.  We wish all of you the best this Christmas & Holiday season and much prosperity in the new year.

You are what makes Buellton special.  Thank you for your continued support in our Chamber.  We look forward to serving you in the New Year.

TUESDAY January 21st 2014 Mixer
at Mother Hubbard's Restaurant
373 Avenue of Flags
5-7pm
It's become a January tradition that we join Jon, Doniece and the family for the white elephant gift exchange and potluck mixer.  Jon cooks up the main dish and we bring the side dishes to share with each other.  Appetizers, sides, casseroles, and desserts are welcome.  Then bring an item to re-gift.  We'll play the keep or steal game, which always brings laughs and smiles to the crowd.  The mixer will be held on a TUESDAY, so mark your calendar now.

Your continued support is greatly appreciated and we can't thank you enough for your gracious donations.  If you would like to promote your business and donate an item for our raffle, please contact the Chamber of Commerce at 688-7829 and we'll gladly add you to our list.

Courtney and Glover

Courtney and Glover Capital Management is a full service brokerage and financial advising firm serving clients across California with its principle office in Solvang. The two managing partners, Ben Courtney and Mark Glover live in Santa Ynez and Solvang respectfully and are central coast natives. Additionally, C&G was awarded "Best in the Valley" for Financial Services in 2012.

As a client, you will benefit from the combined knowledge and expertise of all of C&G's advisors to plan your investments and manage your portfolio.

C&G specializes in individual solutions. Each client has unique goals and objectives. C&G operates under the principle that clients are not numbers, but people with distinct circumstances. We work closely with our clients and develop personal, meaningful relationships.

C&G can meet your financial goals and objects though the numerous products and services they provide: investment management, life insurance, annuities, financial planning, company plans, retirement planning and tax free Income.

For the first time, residents may bring their Christmas trees (other trees will be accepted as well) to be chipped and take home the mulch for their yards.  For all the details, check out the attached flyer.  MarBorg will still offer the curbside tree pick-up service, but for those who would like to turn their tree into mulch, this is another great option.

Sylvester  Domestic Short-hair  Black/White  2 yrs. M(N)

Meet Sylvester, a very lucky cat. His previous owner found him and his siblings in a dumpster and took them home for a better life. The much-needed TLC and basic medical care helped them thrive. The other kittens in the litter were flashier looking so they went to homes first, but after you meet Sylvester, you will wonder how someone could choose any other cat. His outgoing affectionate demeanor and his nonstop motor will certainly win your heart. Come meet him today.  Sylvester is microchipped and weighs 14lbs.

And the Harvest Cup Goes To.....
Valley Pets of Buellton!!

Our Congrats go to Matt Snyder and his staff at Valley Pets for participating in the Scarecrow Fest and for taking home the Harvest Cup.  Valley Pets built the Headless Horseman as their scarecrow and was the overall winner in Buellton which allowed them to go onto the Harvest Cup competition.  A judge from each participating community went around and then voted for the best scarecrow Valley Wide.  The Harvest Cup was awarded to Valley Pets at a ceremony held at the Wildling Museum in Solvang.  The trophy will remain in Buellton until the next Harvest Cup winner is announced next year.  If you would like to see the trophy, visit Valley Pets.  Congratulations and thank you again to all of our participants.
Thank you to Classic Party Rentals
Do I hear a round of applause for the folks from Classic Party Rentals? They do know how to throw a party don't they?  Once again they showed us their hospitality by inviting us into their facility.  Their showroom shined with elegance and you too can dazzle your guests with rentals from Classic Party.  They have everything you need for a gathering of 6-1000.  Do you need china? Glasses? Tables? Space Heaters?  You get the point.  They have it.  Remember them for your next shindig.  Thank you Richard Good and staff, you are the best.
Again, we encourage you to do business locally when given the opportunity to do so.  A lot of planning and hard work goes into hosting a mixer and we are very grateful to have such a dynamic Member base who open their doors for us each year.

Remember, these mixers are meant to network, and meet other business persons who you may wish to do business with.  We encourage you to bring your business cards, shake some hands, and make your way through the crowd.  We've heard some great success stories come out of our Mixers where individuals were able to sign some pretty impressive deals.  The Mixers also offer a way for our hosts to invite you into their place of business and showcase what they have to offer and meet their staff.  Remember to thank them for their hospitality when you have the opportunity to do so.
Our sincere thanks goes out to the following businesses who were so kind to donate an item for our raffle:
