Greetings!
Customer service is the one thing that doesn't cost you a dime, but could cost your business everything if not done well. I think we have all experienced, at one time or another, poor customer service and I'm sure you could explain your negative experience, in detail, to this day.
As we head into the holiday shopping season, it's important to put your best face forward and show your customers how much you care.
When is the last time you've listened or watched your employees or co-workers interact with a customer? How was the customer greeted? How did they answer the phone? Did the customer walk away happy? These are very basic questions to ask, but they could make or break your company's reputation.
Here are a few suggestions and examples you may find helpful:
-"Thank you for calling (Company name), this is (Employee's name), how may I help you?"
-In a face to face greeting, stand up, smile, and make eye. If you know their name, say it. These are all FREE!
-Before the customer leaves- "Is there anything else I may help you with?", "Did I answer all of your questions?" Send them off knowing you did your best to assist them. "Have a great day, weekend, evening, afternoon and invite them to return again."
Again, these are very basic, common sense examples, but they can make a difference in your bottom line, especially during a stressful, holiday season.

Featured Business of the Month
Santa Barbara Healthcare
Santa Barbara Healthcare is a family owned and operated home medical equipment and supplies company with locations in Santa Barbara and Buellton. The Buellton store is located in the River Oaks Plaza, next door to ONE consignment shop and a few doors down from Pattibakes .
The Buellton office is run by Brooke and Kurtis Blunt, longtime Valley residents and part owners of Santa Barbara Healthcare. They have 3 children who attend Santa Ynez Valley Charter School. Brooke and Kurtis are very involved in the children's school and participate in the many fund raisers for the school. What little free time they have is spent going to the many practices and games all three kids are involved with, which include soccer, softball, baseball and basketball. They are both avid Crossfitters, San Francisco 49er's fans and participate in many other functions of their much beloved community.
Santa Barbara Healthcare carries wheelchairs, hospital beds, patient lifts, lift chairs, walkers and ambulatory aids, wellness and fitness supplies, caregiver supplies and many other items necessary to support a comfortable and safe home-care environment including Medela breast pumps for nursing mothers. We believe our business is about much more than hardware. That's why we place such a strong emphasis on customer service, especially expediting insurance claims, sometimes more stressful than health problems. We go beyond pickup and delivery, offering 24 hour emergency services, liaison with physicians, and personalized assistance to help patients and caregivers select the most appropriate equipment and use it correctly. These are just some of the ways we enlarge the meaning of "aids to daily living."
Santa Barbara Healthcare also offers a daily rental rate on much of our rental equipment including but not limited to wheelchairs, scooters, hospital beds and lifts, for those visiting Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara. This is also a great alternative for those who need a short term rental or need equipment that insurance will not cover.
Come visit us at our Buellton store at 240 E. Hwy 246, Suite 100, or call (805) 693-8321. We look forward to seeing you.

Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society Pet of the Month
S'more American Bulldog White/Black 9 months F(S)
S'more is a lovable goofball of a dog. She weighs 64lbs, but her skin could wrap around an 80lb dog! It drapes loosely about her body, perfectly suited for hand and foot warming, In her short time at the Humane Society she has shown a high tolerance for whatever humans can dish out. She can play well with some dogs, but is not well suited for all dogs and is not a dog park candidate. If you are an experienced bully breed owner looking for a goofy dog who will provide you years of laughter, S'more may be your gal. Come meet her today. S'more is microchipped.

Thank you to RaboBank in Buellton
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Sonia Jimenez and her staff for their warm hospitality. They always go above and beyond as our Mixer host and truly roll out the red carpet for our members. Guests enjoyed catered food from Testa Catering, music by Bubba Ramey, and local wines. Their creative "jailbird" scarecrow greeted the crowd as they entered reminding them, "This is what happens when you Rab-O-Bank".
Again, we encourage you to do business locally when given the opportunity to do so. A lot of planning and hard work goes into hosting a mixer and we are very grateful to have such a dynamic Member base who open their doors for us each year.
Remember, these mixers are meant to network, and meet other business persons who you may wish to do business with. We encourage you to bring your business cards, shake some hands, and make your way through the crowd. We've heard some great success stories come out of our Mixers where individuals were able to sign some pretty impressive deals. The Mixers also offer a way for our hosts to invite you into their place of business and showcase what they have to offer and meet their staff. Remember to thank them for their hospitality when you have the opportunity to do so. Our sincere thanks goes out to the following businesses who were so kind to donate an item for our raffle:
