Greetings!

Summer is here!  The kids are graduating, vacations are booked, and we're heading into our busiest tourist season as well.  Time to stock up and get ready because they're coming!

If you're business relies on this season, be sure you do everything possible to make the best of it.

Is your staff friendly?  Does the customer come first?  Do they go the extra mile to make the customer feel important and comfortable?  These are all important questions to ask because they can make or break a sale.
We see visitors here from all over the world and they are all looking to take away the experience and memories they make while on vacation.  Let's give them a reason to come back and a reason to go home and share with their friends, the good time they had when they visited our beautiful Valley.

Promotional & Sponsorship Opportunities
Promote your business at these following events.  They all offer a variety of ways to participate, see which one works best for your business.

Prelude Bike Ride -
The Prelude Bike ride is coming on November 2, 2013.  We are partnering with all the Chambers and communities within the Valley to come up with a discount flyer/booklet to include in their swag bags.  This is no cost to you, the only thing we ask is that you offer a discount or promotion to the riders while they are here.  Keep in mind, November is a time of year for people to do their holiday shopping, so they'll be in search for some good deals.  Please fill out the attached form, or call or email us with your discount information and we'll get you included.

Pirate Discount Card - This is provided by the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School Football Boosters.  You may have seen these before or you may already offer a discount on the card.  These cards are very popular and used by the community on a regular basis.  All you as a business are asked to do is offer a discount on your product or service.  You can be creative and make restrictions if they apply.  For example, maybe you only want to run a special on Tuesdays, or maybe Sun.-Thurs.  It's up to you.  This costs you nothing except the discount you offer. The cards are sold for $40.00 and are good for one year.  Funds raised are for the High School Football program in the way of equipment, uniforms, etc.

Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society Pet of the Month

Luella Domestic Short-hair Gray/White 5 years F(S)

Luella took up residence under a shade tree at someone's ranch and although she was in great shape, it soon became apparent that she was looking for a new place to call home. Upon arrival at the Humane Society, Luella lay draped across her caretaker's shoulder as if she hadn't a care in the world. As tranquil as she seems to be, there is a huntress just beneath the surface, At the sight of a lizard, she crouches, swishes her tail and waits for her moment to pounce, unaware that the chain link walls will thwart her efforts. And although Luella was far less than agreeable during her vet exam, she has otherwise been a well-mannered lady. Come meet her today and see if you agree.

 Thank You,

Thank you to Pam Gnekow and the Buellton Senior Center for hosting our May Mixer.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Pam Gnekow and her entire crew for putting on a wonderful May Mixer.  Pam worked her magic, as always and treated us to a fabulous buffet, full of Mexican fare, tasty sweet treats, local wines, and Fig Mountain Beer.  It was a delightful evening in front of the Senior Center Thrift Store and we are so thankful to have them be a part of our community.  In addition to feeding the seniors at the center, Pam also oversees the Meals on Wheels program, hosts the Mandate Dinners for the community, and operates Country Garden Catering.  Not sure where she finds her energy, but we truly appreciate all that she does for our community and our seniors.  Please remember Pam for your future parties and events.  Our sincere thanks goes out to the following businesses who were so kind to donate an item for our raffle:
