Anne Becker Book Launch!
"But these words kept thumping through my head...'He isn't here. He hasn't come. He isn't coming'...I got exhausted waiting for Easter. When it was over, a big hole was rippped in my stomach, and I had run out of jelly beans."
WWf(a)C writer, Anne Becker announces the publication of her new book Ollie Ollie In Come Free: A Memoir of Swallowed Time. Anne says, " It is an intimate exploration of how my older siblings' deaths impacted my childhood and development into adulthood. Much of it is written in the child's voice. Most of the book was written while I participated in Women Writing for (a) Change core classes beginning in 1994. In fact, without this community I would never have dared write this memoir!
Anne invites all her writing sisters of different eras to her book launch on Saturday, October 25, 7:00 to 10:00 pm at Women Writing for (a) Change. She will read from the book and share briefly about her writing process.

Supporting What You Love into the Future
Our Heartfelt Thanks to Phebe Beiser! Women Writing for (a) Change has meant so much to Phebe over the years that she wants to help WWf(a)C continue to flourish and thrive for generations to come. Phebe has shown her devotion and her hopes for the future of WWf(a)C by naming the organization as a beneficiary of her retirement plan.
"I believe it is the right thing to do, to give back. This organization has given so much to me. Donating after I am gone is one small (and easy!) way to help WWf(a)C continue to thrive."
Women Writing for (a) Change has been a part of Phebe's life for many years. Her first writing circle was in 2004, and in 2006 she completed the Feminist Leadership Academy under Mary Pierce Brosmer. Today, we are privileged to have Phebe lead our Thursday morning core class.
Phebe wants others to have these experiences for years to come. "Not only is it a place to share writing, WWf(a)C is truly a wonderful community. I have found great friends here."
"I would ask that you look within and consider all the gifts you have received from WWf(a)C. Giving any way you can (and in any amount) really helps the organization not only continue, but grow! You don't have to be rich to give. Every little bit helps."
Phebe, we are grateful for your generosity and dedication to Women Writing for (a) Change. Thank you!

Who's Who
at Women Writing for (a) Change
Spotlight On: Carolyn Brookbank
Carolyn Brookbank currently facilitates the Fall Sunday series for girls at our writing center in Cincinnati. In addition, she holds writing circles for students at Pleasant Ridge Montessori and Springer School and Center. She has a long history with WWf(a)C. We wanted to learn more about Carolyn and introduce her to those new to our community, so we asked her to tell us a little bit about her history with Women Writing. "I joined Women Writing for (a) Change in the early 1990's when Mary [Pierce Brosmer] led circles where women wrote and spoke their truths. This was heady stuff! I could not get enough of these women and these wonderful circles..."
