December Selection:
The Glass Castle
by Jeannette Walls

December 1, 2013
3-5 pm

The Book Group follows the processes used at WWf(a)C, to offer an intentional circle using both writing and conversation to broaden and deepen our understanding of each book. We will explore the obvious and not-so-obvious places where we discover, or in some cases the characters themselves discover, the conscious-feminine. We will also discuss plot, structure, voice and narrative, and which of these enabled us on our journey with these characters and story.

2014 dates: January 5, February 2, March 2, April 6, May 4

There is no charge for the Book Club, but please REGISTER ONLINE

Friday Salons

Next Salon: November 15th
6:30 pm - potluck
7pm- discussion begins

Topic:
"The Creative Process
across Art Forms"

"When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work.  I told her I worked at the college - that my job was to teach people how to draw.  She stared back at me, incredulous, and said, "You mean they forget?" ~Howard Ikemoto

What is your creative process?

Facilitator, Diane Debevec often claims that she is a visual artist who loves to write.  Join her for this next salon as she leads a conversation about the creative process.  If you are a creator, an artist, a dabbler of any type, please consider bringing a piece of your work along!

The Conscious Feminine Leadership Academy, 2013

"CFLA is about leadership, and about facilitating, but it is also more. I have learned so much through the readings, teachings and writings, and from being part of the community that is CFLA: self-awareness without self-absorption, presence with intention, transparency with courage, fervor with temperance. I have a sense of peace and purpose, what a gift."

~Laurie Lambert, CFLA 2013

On November 2nd, 2013, nine women will graduate from the Conscious Feminine Leadership Academy (CFLA), in a ceremony to be held at 6906 Plainfield Road. CFLA is an evolution of the Feminist Leadership Academy (FLA), a program of Women Writing for (a) Change, that certifies individuals to teach and lead using the principles and practices of WWf(a)C. Since 2004, 54 women have graduated from the FLA; this year's class brings the number to 63...

Maintaining Health and Mindfulness during the Holiday Season

The Holidays have a way of derailing our attempts at healthy living and mindfulness.  Before the chaos of "The Holidaze" begins, take some time for yourself and learn ways to navigate your way through the holiday chaos, using your journal as a guide.  Through writing, group sharing, and discussion, participants will learn strategies for creating and keeping holiday memories, eating healthy, taking care of themselves in body and mind, and learning to be mindful in the midst of the holiday chaos.
