Join Your Child For Lunch During Live Music Friday
Musician Benjamin Padilla will perform Oct. 30th

Musician and drum teacher, Mr. Benjamin Padilla, will be playing his keyboard in the cafeteria this Friday during every lunch period (from 10:20 to 1:00) so every class will have an opportunity to hear his fun musical styling. Parents, if you are able, you are strongly encouraged to have lunch with your child at school this Friday and all future Live Music Fridays.

The goal of Live Music Fridays is to inspire children of all ages to pursue music. The NES PTA is working to fill the calendar year with live performances every Friday. Know a member of our community who plays an instrument, has a band, or has some other musical performance? Tell us about them! Send an email to Seth Rubenstein (sethrubenstein@hotmail.com) for more information or to recommend a performer.

Hope to see many of you at lunch on Friday!

Seeking Outstanding Parent Volunteer Nominations
Submissions due Nov. 6th

Do you know of a parent volunteer who goes above and beyond?  Please consider nominating them to be recognized at our first Character Assembly in front of their child(ren).  This is a great way to show your appreciation for our wonderful volunteers and for their children to be proud of their parents/guardians.

Research shows that students with involved parents are more likely to:
  • Earn higher grades and test scores
  • Be promoted and pass their classes
  • Attend school regularly
  • Have better social skills
  • Show improved behavior
  • Graduate & attend post-secondary education
So not only do we want to show our appreciation, but we want the children to know that parents are involved with their education. Since many of our volunteers do "behind the scene" tasks, their child may not even know about them!

If you have someone in mind, please submit the parent's name, with a short paragraph describing what the nominee does to make them an outstanding as a volunteer.

Please email your submissions to faye.yost@cobbk12.org  by Nov. 6, 2015 so that we can be prepared for the Assemblies to be held on Nov. 16, 17, and 18th
