Davis Dads Meeting Tonight, Tuesday
Nickajack Dads and Positive Role Models Invited
As a Nickajack Dad, or a man who serves in a vital role to a Nickajack student, we want you to please join the Davis Dads (formerly the FBI) in helping us step-up to our PTA goal of 100% Family Engagement this year at Nickajack Elementary.
Tonight, Tuesday, September 8, at 7:00 PM the Davis Dads are meeting at Nickajack to discuss our school, our community and the role men play in the lives of our children.
Strong men make strong kids and that's why the PTA needs you,no matter how much you can participate - showing up matters.
Some activities are already planned for this school year so far include:
· Friday Morning Reading Days - Four times this year, first one, Sep. 11 - next Friday! · Football Friday - Celebrating Active Play at a favorite time of year, same day as our first reading, Friday, Sep. 11
· Sweetheart Dance - Inspired by Daddy-Daughter events, our first ever dance, Feb. 5
· Field Days - The annual fun and fitness event everyone loves, May 12-13
Click here to provide us with your contact information and to be added to our Davis Dads distribution list. We hope you can join Mr. Hooker, Mr. Homansky and PTA leaders tonight for the first Davis Dads meeting.
Sincerely,
Seth and Your Davis Dad's Committee

Annual Event is Saturday, October 24th at 9am
The Nickajack Dash is a 1.5 mile Fun Run for your family, friends, and neighbors to help raise money for the NES PTA. The run starts and ends at Nickajack, and runs along the Silver Comet Trail. Keep a lookout for registration forms for this event! They will be sent home in the near future!
The Silent Auction will start at the conclusion of the Dash, where parents can browse while the kids enjoy plenty of fun activities!
WE NEED HELP ~ TELL US WHO YOU KNOW! Last year's event was a huge success. We were able to raise $14,000 for our PTA. We want to secure continued success for 2015!
The Silent Auction Committee is in full swing trying to secure amazing Auction items for this year's big event. We're looking for sponsorships, cash donations, volunteers and silent auction items. Do you own a small business? Do you have friends or family members that would like to make monetary donations or items for the auction? Do you want to share your time? No amount of time or donation is too small... many hands make light work!

Kindness & Compassion Team for Alex's Million Mile Run-Walk-Ride
Nickajack's KC Club K-2 is participating in a month long service project to support Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The mission of ALSF is as follows: - To raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily research into new treatments and cures.
- To encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.
Our KC Club students and their families will be walking, biking, and running to help raise awareness of childhood cancer and the need for ongoing research. If you would like to learn more about ALSF and Alex's Million Mile event, please check out the following link: www.alexslemonade.org.
Interested in supporting by joining in or donating? If you would like to make a donation to this cause or simply join our KC Club team and log the number of miles you walk, run, or ride during the month of September, please go to the following link to access our team's fundraising page:
The KC Club would love for you to join their team and thousands of others to collectively run 1,000,000 miles! This represents a great way for kids to feel like they are truly making a difference in the lives of others. For additional details, please contact Katy Weihe. |
