Jump Rope for Heart!
April 13th through April 30th

Are you ready to Jump Rope for Heart?  Nickajack is excited for this annual event starting on April 13 and concluding on April 30th.  During this time students will have the opportunity to practice their jumping skills in P.E. and also do their part outside the classroom by raising money to help those affected by heart disease.  Students will get envelopes for cash and check donations and can also create their own Jump Rope for Heart website at www.heart.org/jump to send emails and accept credit card donations.  Last year Nickajack students and staff raised an amazing $24,349 making us 8th in the entire state. For every $2,000 raised, NES receives a $100 gift certificate towards PE equipment from US Games. Your student will also be extremely excited to see the new ducks that the American Heart Association is offering.

Students will also have the opportunity to jump rope in the mornings from 7:20-7:45 with a $1 donation.  Click here for additional details.

Volunteers, Grillers, and Grills Needed
Save the date

Field Day 2015 is approaching fast! The dates for this year are as follows:

May 7th for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades

May 8th for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades

This is an exciting, annual event for the students, and the PTA will be in need of many volunteers to assist with setting up, taking down and managing the various events / competitions throughout the day.  Sign up will commence in April, but please mark your calendar now and consider taking time to assist in this event.

In addition, we would like to incorporate a new Field Day tradition this year by serving a hot dog lunch to all the staff and students.  The hotdogs and buns will be provided, but we are looking for an individual, or group of individuals who can handle the grilling duties or can lend a grill.  We will need approximately 600 hot dogs prepared for each of the two days (1,200 total).  If you would like to take on this responsibility, please email Wes Bunkley at cwbunkle@gapac.com
