Mentor a Child, Make a World of Difference
Cobb Mentoring Matters Meeting Thursday, March 12th
Adults with a big heart and a capacity to nurture are in great demand. If you have ever considered being the one who gives a little attention to a child who needs it, mentorship might be right for you. Children will be paired with adults who are willing to generously devote even just a small amount of their time, encouragement, and genuine interest in their lives. It can change their whole world.
Cobb Mentoring Matters is hosting a mentor orientation right here in our community Thursday, March 12, 6:00-7:30PM here at Nickajack, and we are inviting you to take the next step to changing a child's life.
Attending this meeting is:
The best way to learn if mentoring is right for you, and is
a necessary step to becoming a mentor in Cobb County.
Attending this meeting, however, does NOT:
Obligate you to become a mentor, or
Obligate you to mentor a Nickajack Elementary School student
Facts that matter to all of us:
1. Children throughout our county desperately need mentors in their lives
2. Our public schools are in desperate need of community help
3. Making a difference in one life, makes a difference to our entire community
If you or a friend, neighbor, relative, male or female, college aged or retired could be a mentor, will you PLEASE help us put this invitation to use?
It just takes a click, on the survey link below, to let us know our message was received, and at least one of these things about you:
A) I will attend Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 PM (children welcome)
B) I'm interested, but unable to attend this meeting
C) This is not for me, but thank you
D) Though unable myself, I'm referring someone else
While it's true we cannot pretend to know the difference any single event will make throughout someone's life, we do know that we have children in our midst who are calling out to us. Our ancestors told us, "It takes a village to raise a child." Will you come help make a world of difference?

The top classrooms across NES so far are the following:
4th grade - Ms Ladd
2nd grade - Ms Copeland
2nd grade - Ms Wood
When submitting your Box Tops, please include your child's teacher's name on the outside of a sealable bag or collection sheet. Here are some optional tips that'll make the submission process easier:
- Bundle your Box Tops in groups of 10 or 50 using a sealable bag envelope
- Tape or glue Box Tops on a collection sheet, available at BTFE.com
The classroom with the highest number of Box Tops collected at each grade level will receive an awesome Popsicle Party to kick off Spring! Remember, each box top is worth $.10 for our school.
