New to Nickajack: PBIS
Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports

Are your students talking about earning tickets at school for model behavior? Nickajack is excited to be implementing the new PBIS program for the school year that is a prevention oriented method used by school personnel to improve the social culture and behavioral climate of classrooms and schools.

By using positive reinforcement, modeling expected behaviors, and consistent redirection, our goal is to create students who are Respectful, Responsible, Role Models in all aspects of behavior and learning. This program is already being used through out Cobb County and the nation as a whole.

BACK THE JACK Kicks off 8/18!
Donate to help our school!
Back the Jack logo
Have you seen the green apples on doors around the school?
Every green apple means that something in that classroom - an ELMO document camera, a digital microscope, our cafeteria sound system, our computer room teacher and technology updates, etc. - was paid for by the Nickajack Foundation (NESF).  Your donations raised over $60,000 last year and covered $20,000 in teacher grants!

Back the Jack, the Fall campaign to benefit NESF, will be from 8/18-9/26.  Look for information in the Beat, Red Folders and online about how to donate.

Participation is key -whether you can give $10 or $1000- all donations benefit our school!

Eagle Scout Project is Complete!
New Picnic Tables for Pavilion

Thank you to NES alum and Eagle Scout Christian Knox, his family, Troop 197, and to all the other volunteers that helped with the assembly of new picnic tables and the overall renovation of our outdoor pavilion! Another thank you to those that contributed supplies, food, and donations to cover expenses.

Our students will greatly benefit for years to come, utilizing the pavilion during Science Lab, Garden Club and other activities. The new rain gutters and water collection system will aid the NES garden as well.

A special thanks, also, to Rudy of Rudy Gutters, for donating the gutters and other materials, as well as training the volunteers to install them! Call Rudy Gutters, of Smyrna, for free estimates at 678-499-3921 or visit on line at
