Nickajack's Media Center Needs Your Help!
Make Your Tax Deductible Donation by Jan. 17th!

So far donors have helped raise $1,085! Help us reach our goal of $5,000!
The media center plays a critical role in increasing literacy among students, assisting teachers with their curriculum, and contributing to your child's lifelong joy of reading.
There simply is not enough money in the budget to fill our library with the books our students and teachers need for reading and research. A recent collection analysis indicates that 70% of our non-fiction collection is out dated, over 4,000 books! We need to purchase updated and relevant non-fiction books to support the Common Core curriculum and our student's interest in non-fiction topics.
For every $20 donated we will be able to purchase a new book and 100% of your tax deductible donation goes to the Nickajack Media Center!
Click to donate: http://www.funds4books.com/fundraiser.aspx?pincode=ece9
Donations ($10 minimum) will be accepted until January 17, 2014.
With your help, we can purchase the library materials our children need!
We greatly appreciate your support!

100 Days of School Food Drive
Now till January 24th (the 100th day of School!)
We are partnering with Alive Ministries in the 100 Days of School Campaign to help meet the needs of students & their families right here in Cobb County. Alive Ministries establishes food pantries within local schools to address the need of hunger amongst children living in poverty. We hope that you will join us as we challenge each homeroom to collect 100 cans or boxes of food by the 100th day of school (January 24th). All of the food collected will be donated to the Save It Forward Food Pantries in Cobb County. This campaign will also teach students the importance of helping others and the value of working together. Students will learn that no matter how large or small their contribution is to the campaign, when we work together and each does his/her part, we can make a BIG difference. We want each student to walk away from the campaign feeling like they have made a difference in the life of another child. We are asking each student to assist his/her homeroom in collecting 100 cans or boxes of food by bringing in non-perishable foods or toiletries from now until the 100th day of school, January 24th. |
