Summer Reading Challenge

summer challenge

Nickajack students are #5 in Georgia and we are in the top 10% in the country... Number 304 out of 3316 schools!

As of June 21, our students have been reading and logging minutes, and are ranked #5 in Georgia for the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge, with 26,275 minutes logged!

It isn't too late for students to start logging their minutes! Many classrooms were enrolled by their teachers and log-in information was sent home with them, however parents can still enroll their student at  www.scholastic.com/summer . Paper log sheets can also be used, and were sent home with a free book May 17th.

Let's fight the 'Summer Slide' by encouraging our students to read all summer and log their minutes for a friendly competition! All NES students are encouraged to participate, and top readers of our current K-4 grades will receive gift certificates to our fall book fair.  The top 20 schools with the most summer reading minutes will be featured in the Scholastic Book of World Records 2014!

Contact kim.trumble1@gmail.com or katyweihe@gmail.com with questions.
