You must make a choice before you can proceed to page two, but you can go back and change your choice if necessary. If there is a parent volunteer who you feel has not been recognized, you may write in your nomination in the "other " section and then please include a short write up as to why they should be recognized.
Outstanding Parent Volunteer of the Year and any write in nominations will be recognized during our end of year Character Assemblies in front of their child (ren).

That is also the last day to take an AR quiz for this school year.
Reports cards will be held for any students with outstanding media center books or outstanding fines.

Join the 2013 Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge! The challenge begins Monday, May 6th, 2013. Let's fight the 'Summer Slide' by encouraging our students to read all summer and log their minutes for a friendly competition! All NES students are encouraged to participate, and top readers of our current K-4 grades will receive gift certificates to our fall book fair. The top 20 schools with the most summer reading minutes will be featured in the Scholastic Book of World Records 2014! Check with your student's teacher to see if the class is being enrolled in bulk, or click here for individual instructions. Mathnasium
During the summer months, many students lose 2 to 2.5 months of the math computational skills learned during the school year. Summer is fast approaching! Mathnasium of Smyrna is now enrolling for its summer programs, which will run from May 28th to August 31st. We can create a special program for your child to prevent summer learning loss and ensure that he or she is ready for the next school year and beyond. In addition to the regular Mathnasium program, we also offer specific readiness programs during the summer, including: - Jumpstart for Next Year for students who need a preview of the upcoming year's math topics.
- Algebra Readiness for students going into algebra next year.
- Multiplication Review or Introduction for students who need help with multiplication.
- Fraction Boot Camp for students who find fractions mysterious.
This summer we are offering two enrollment options - unlimited visits $219/month or a block of 17 one-hour visits for $429 to be used throughout the summer however you want. Sign up this month to take advantage of our current discounts. Receive a $50 discount off enrollment if you register and complete the assessment by May 15th or a $25 discount if enrolled by May 31st. Lost and Found - Please Come Claim
The school lost and found is brimming with students' jackets, lunch boxes, hats, etc....
Please take a moment to stop by the bus port where the lost and found is located.
Items such as eyeglasses, cell phones, and the like are kept in the front office.
All items not claimed by the last day of school will be donated to a worthy organization.

Yearbook Distribution & Signing Party
Tuesday, May 14th, Los Bravos Mexican Restaurant, 5 - 8pm
If you ordered your yearbook online, it will be available for pick up on Tuesday, May 14th from 5 - 8 pm at Los Bravos Mexican Restaurant. Come join us for the "Best Fajitas" in town and let your kiddos get their yearbooks signed.

Los Bravos is located in the Highland Shopping Center next to Publix off the East West Connector and S. Cobb Drive.

Rising 6th Grade Parent Night

Parents, we will begin in the theater with a presentation just for your rising 6th graders. After the presentation, you will attend 3 engaging sessions of your choice ranging from hands on activities, to the use of iPads in the classroom.
You will also get a first look at the 6th grade classrooms, lockers, media center and cafeteria.
We look forward to seeing you.
