Four days left to shop at the Book Fair! Special thanks to the FBI for the morning Book Talks, and to Ms. Lietz's art students for their great Book Fair posters on display throughout the school.
Book Fair Shopping Hours
Tuesday, March 5 7:20-7:50a and 2:20-6pm
Wed. & Thurs., March 6-7 7:20-7:50a and 2:20-4pm
Shop any time on-line now through March 15.
Purchases at the fair in the school are tax-free. Cash and credit cards are accepted, and checks can be written to NES PTA.
Teacher Wish Lists-You can contribute to your students classroom by purchasing a book on the teacher's wish list, please visit this display at the fair. The teachers greatly appreciate your contributions!
All For Books - Please donate your loose change during our All for Books collection. These donations will be used to purchase books for our NES students in need. Scholastic will also match our total for a contribution to additional non-profit groups.

Fine Arts Night
Thursday, March 7th, 5:30 pm
Come see your student's framed artwork in the gym beginning at 5:30 pm.
The NES students have come together to create artwork for a spectacular Art Show Celebration! Every student has his/her own masterpiece framed & on display. Purchase your child's framed Original Art to proudly display in your home or office. Reproductions may be purchased at the Art Show for a personalized gift for grandparents, friends, or others. $25 each.
Cash or Check accepted. In addition, a percentage of the sales goes directly to our NES Art Program.
Nickajack's fabulous Braves Chorus will perform for your enjoyment at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria.

3rd Grade Field Day T-Shirt Orders
Due Thursday, March 14th
ONLY $7 CASH per t-shirt
Each class in every grade level will have a different color shirt with the same design. High quality, 6.1 ounce, 100% pre-shrunk cotton.
Please place CASH payment into white school payment envelope & drop into a Black Box with the order form inside.
We need separate order form for each student ordering.
Remember different grades have different deadlines.
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The dates stated are the only time orders from this grade will be accepted. This time frame is your only opportunity to order a field day shirt for your student. All sales are final. No exchanges will be made.

Registrations are due by Wednesday March 13th. 4 Person Scramble $100 Entry Fee per Person, includes lunch from Chick-fil-a and a Los Bravos buffet after the round 10 AM Shotgun Start Silent Auction, Contests, Raffles & Mulligans will be available on-site Net & Gross Winners
The tournament is on a weekday and it might not work for everyone, but are still OTHER ways you can help:
-Do you know anyone who would like to sponsor a hole? This is a perfect marketing opportunity for local businesses!
- We are still looking for a few more, great raffle prizes - event tickets, restaurant and other gift cards - If you have any connections, please let us know!

Nickajack prides itself on not only a superb staff and faculty, but also it's very vibrant and reputable PTA.
In order to keep our PTA vibrant, it is crucial that have we have strong leadership in place.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill all executive officer positions. Specifically, we are looking for:

Yearbook Committee Seeking Members
 We are in need of some new members to help with next year's NES yearbook.
If you enjoy taking photos, are at school, class parties & field trips with camera in tow, we need your photos and your help next year. Help is also needed with getting the word out for sales through The Beat, signage and flyers. Any hours that you can commit will be appreciated. Science Olympiad Results
Congratulations!!!
 Fourth and Fifth grade students practiced for months and represented Nickajack well at the annual Cobb County Science Olympiad on Saturday, March 2. Students in the Straw Egg Drop event won 2nd place! Other groups placed in the Top 10: Deep Blue Sea, Leaf & Tree Finder, Water Rockets, and Bridge Building. We are proud of their teamwork and great sportsmanship! Straw Egg Drop Team: Katie Benesh and Brianna McClureSpecial thanks to Mrs. Bassett, Mrs. Maples, Ms. Burney and Mrs. Slayton for their excellent leadership with our students for this Team.

We Did It!
Nickajack along with schools across the nation helped to set a new record for the most AR quizzes taken in one day. On March 1st, Nickajack students took AR tests in an effort to help surpass the number of quizzes taken on this day last year, which was 3, 581,992.
The new record is 4,409,622!
