Sunday, October 14 was a beautiful day to be at Rhyne Park enjoying the games, activities and food at the NES Foundation Fall Festival. There was also a pretty interesting Kickball Tournament going on! Thank you to all those who showed their support and helped us raise over $8,000!
Congratulations to Five Dollars & Some Change on walking away with the coveted Kickball Classic Trophy (and no injuries unlike other teams!). Five Dollars & Change beat out the strong competition from our local heroes from Station 1 & 4.
Special Thanks To:
Nickajack Alum, Sydney Lopes, who opened the event with a beautiful presentation of our National Anthem
Smyrna Firefighters from Stations 1 & 4 who not only participated in the Kickball Classic but also tended to several adults who suffered minor injuries throughout the tournament. Their job never ends, even at a kickball tournament!
Lynne Scott, Fall Festival Director - another great job of planning and managing the entire event
Tarun Ganeriwal, Kickball Tournament Director - it's not as easy as it looks to coordinate teams, brackets, rules, fields, umpires and more
Many, many volunteers who helped set up & clean up, run games and activities, umpire kickball games and more.
Relay for Life Team who set up a makeshift concession stand and raised over $400 to put toward their ongoing fundraising efforts.
