A note from Mr. Shannon Hooker,
Our New Assistant Adminstrator
NES welcomes you!

Asst vp pic

Hello,
My name is Shannon Hooker and I am excited to be joining Nickajack Elementary School.  I have seen and heard wonderful things about Nickajack and it is truly an honor to be part of the team.

As an educator, I sincerely believe the importance of a quality education.  I earned by Bachelors of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  I received my Master's in Education from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.  I completed my Certification in Education Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  Lastly, I graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with a Speciality Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am an avid Green Bay Packer fan and would like to share with you one of my favorite quotes from Vince Lombardi, "The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined efforts of each individual."  Thus, I will make certain to continue the vision and mission of Nickajack so that it continues to make great achievements.

Sincerely,
Mr. Hooker
Thanksgiving  Food Drive
November 05 - 12, 2012

 cans

Nickajack will be collecting food items for The Center for Family Resources, which provides over 1,500 Thanksgiving baskets to Cobb families each year.  As families prepare for a holiday with loved ones, many of our neighbors must stretch their budgets, making it difficult to afford a meal for their families.  In order to provide consistent baskets to all families, we welcome the following items:

Dressing Mix

Cranberry Sauce

Canned or instant potatoes

Canned green vegetables

Canned yellow vegetables

Pumpkin pie mix

Dried or canned milk

Canned meat, tuna, or ham

Canned fruit

Beginning November 5th, please send any food items that you would like to donate to school with your child.  There will be a collection barrel for each grade level to drop food at the front of the school outside the main office.  The grade level that collects the most food items will win a special treat.  Thank you for your generosity!

If you have any questions, please contact  School Counselors, Andrea Mackey or Nicole Pfleger at 678-842-5814.
