Greetings!
Do Women Get the Fitness "Shaft?"
Yeah, pretty much. Sorry! Men tend to have more visceral fat (deep, internal fat that is harder to see) while women tend to have more subcutaneous fat (under the skin, which is more "visible").
Plus, visceral fat is easier too burn off than subcutaneous fat. Yep, another "shaft" for the women.
Women also tend to be more inclined toward emotional eating, making fat reduction programs more challenging. Research shows that women tend to find it harder to stave off hunger and resist food cravings compared to men as well.
Sounds like a raw deal, right? Yeah, pretty much, but HEALTHY women are supposed to have more fat than men and therefore should have a "softer" look. At least that's my opinion. Let's all work at getting that through society's head too, OK?
No matter what your goal, with the right BRAIN TRAINING and the right kind of SMART exercise like X Gym and Fit Tribe, women can achieve their dream body with comparable effort to men, cutting the "shaft" shorter than any other form of training.
I Say "Buy Coke!"

P.S. Check out the new Denny Park Boot Camp, hosted by the American Lung Association! I'm one of the guest instructors, so come join me for a fun time in the great outdoors, right here in Seattle!
Hard to believe, huh? I thought so too, but the research is very compelling. If you spread this 2.5 minutes out over a typical interval training session, you can indeed burn 220 calories - and MORE afterward, because of the metabolic effect on your fat burning metabolism, specifically, making fat loss much easier than through traditional exercise methods. Training like we have done for decades now at the X Gym continues to prove the best way to burn fat!
Science now shows hat stress shortens our telomeres - the part of our genes that keep them from unraveling (and therefore aging us). Guess what is the best way to slow that process down? By busting the stress out of you at the X Gym!
