Clergy Transitions in the Diocese of Milwaukee
by Barbara Klauber (in consultation with Canon Peggy Bean)

The Rev.
Bill McLemore
The Rev. William "Bill" McLemore
The Rev. Bill McLemore, priest at Church of the Holy Communion, Lake Geneva, has accepted a call to serve as rector at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Woodstock, Illinois effective August 1st.  His last Sunday at Lake Geneva will be July 24th.
While he will be deeply missed by the people of Holy Communion and many in the wider diocese, everyone is pleased that his new parish is only 10 miles from Fr. McLemore's  home in McHenry, Illinois.
Fr. McLemore was ordained to the priesthood in 1966 and is canonically resident in the Diocese of Chicago.  His time in our midst here in the Diocese of Milwaukee has been a blessing and we wish him joy in his new parish.

The Rev. David Pfaff
The Rev. David A. Pfaff

Even as July 24 will be Fr. McLemore's last Sunday at Lake Geneva, it will be The Rev. David A. Pfaff's first Sunday at Christ Church in Glendale, Ohio, where he was accepted a call to be rector.  According to the Christ Church, Glendale website, David will begin his new ministry by celebrating "all three" of the parish's regular Sunday services . . . !
While David has most recently worked for the Chur ch Pension Group as a Regional Account Specialist, many in the Diocese of Milwaukee will remember him  from the years he served as Bishop Miller's  Canon to the Ordinary (2007-2014) and, before that, as rector of St. Mark's, Milwaukee (1999-2007). We wish David every blessing as he prepared  to leave the Diocese of Milwaukee to take up his new ministry in the Diocese of Southern Ohio!

A gathering of Episcopal and Roman Catholic deacons
by The Rev. Kevin Stewart
photo by The Rev. Karen Buker

Deacons and their spouses from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee gathered on Saturday morning, June 25 at Trinity Episcopal Church (Wauwatosa) for their annual time to pray and share; reconnect and reflect. This year Melanie and Kevin Stewart shared their story of their life together and some of the ways they respond to God's call to serve one another, along with others in the workplace and persons in the community. Participants shared stories of ministries in their parishes and communities with particular attention to merciful ministries serving the poor, weak, sick and lonely. The group then did some dreaming about how they might collectively serve persons in want and need.

Their gathering was uplifting. Their time together was energizing. They benefited from mutual support. They appreciated Trinity's hospitality.
So what's next? They will use Saturday's "work product" to guide further dialogue and future action as they move forward in faith, through prayer and by acts of mercy.

by Heidi Ropa, Diocese of Milwaukee Haiti Project Coordinator
Over a two week period beginning June 17 and ending July 2, 18 members of Christ Episcopal Church Whitefish Bay will travel to Jeannette, Haiti .  They will be engaging in conversations about healthy partnerships between Haitians and Americans; learning about an agronomy program at St. Marc's school addressing environmental awareness and combating food scarcity; working with children in the community on art projects; and sharing information on water catchment practices.  The second week will focus on music workshops as a Haitian choir from Port au Prince works with local youth.  Members of Christ Church will also work with Cathy Parrill on oral history gathering in the community.  Father Seth Dietrich and Father Seth Raymond will each be in Haiti for a week.  Former Haiti Project Coordinator, Cathy Parrill will be leading the trips and serving as interpreter. Madison-Area Julian Gathering
Wednesday, July 13, 7:15 - 9:00 PM
St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church

What is a Julian Gathering?
A Julian Gathering is open to everyone and you are welcome at all times.  We support each other in the practice of contemplative prayer and contemplative spirituality.  These gatherings are initiated and supported by the Order of Julian of Norwich (www.orderofjulian.org
) and have the quintessentially Anglican writings of St. Julian of Norwich at their core.  They are for all who want to deepen their life of faith through the practice of contemplative prayer, for beginners as well as those already practicing.  Each meeting includes time for contemplative prayer and reading/discussion of Bl. Julian's revelations.
Don't worry if you've never practiced silent prayer before, we can set your mind at ease.
We meet the second Wednesday of each month from 7:15 to 9 PM
For questions or additional information, please email Susan Fiore, ObJN at slfiore@mac.com

Prayers for Parishes

The  diocesan Commission on Mission and Development has prepared a cycle of prayers for the congregations of the Diocese of Milwaukee.

July 03, 2016 - St. John in the Wilderness, Elkhorn
Almighty and everliving God, we give you thanks for the people of St. John in the Wilderness and the many ways they are the heart and hands of Jesus in Elkhorn. Holy Spirit, anoint them with Your power in their mission to preach the love of God through Christ and make Him known to the world around them in word and deed. All this we ask through your Son Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
