A Final Farewell to the St. Timothy's church building
Many of you will recall that, after a period of discernment and reflection, the members of St. Timothy's Church in northwest Milwaukee voted to close, holding their last service in the summer of 2012. In September of that year, the Diocese reached an agreement with St. Timothy's neighbor, Krause Funeral Home, to sell the property, with the idea being that the funeral home would use the liturgical space as an additional site at which they could conduct funeral services.
During the bitter cold of our most recent winter, and despite having been serviced and checked out in the fall, one of the two (large) boilers that served to heat the building burst, and caused major water damage to all parts of the building. Following the flood, contractors discovered such extensive damage, including the exposure of a lot of asbestos, that Krause's insurance company declared the building a total loss.
As a result, the building will be razed, and the land on which the church is located will be incorporated into the rest of the Krause facility.
Pre-demolition required asbestos abatement has already resulted in the sealing of the buildings, and the site should be completely cleared of all building materials by the end of this month.
Bishop Miller visited the site on May 19, and led a brief service of secularization in anticipation of the demolition. At that time, the altar stone was removed, and is currently in the Chapel of the Holy Family in Nicholson House.
Many in the diocese who had connections with St. Timothy's will, I know, be sad to hear this news. Please pray for comfort for them, and in thanksgiving for the life and witness of St. Timothy's Church.
Peace,
The Rev. Canon David A. Pfaff
Canon to the Ordinary

Madison-Area Julian Gathering
Wednesday, July 9, 7:15 - 9 PM
St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church
6205 University Avenue
Madison, WI 53705
What is a Julian Gathering? A Julian Gathering is open to everyone and you are welcome at all times. We support each other in the practice of contemplative prayer and contemplative spirituality. These gatherings are initiated and supported by The Order of Julian of Norwich (www.orderofjulian.org), and have the quintessentially Anglican writings of Julian of Norwich at their core. They are for all who want to deepen their life of faith through the practice of contemplative prayer, for beginners as well as those already practicing. Each meeting includes time for contemplative prayer, and reading and discussion of Julian's writings (there is no homework!). Don't worry if you've never practiced contemplative prayer before, we can set your mind at ease. We meet the second Wednesday of each month from 7:15 to 9 PM. For additional information, contact Susan Fiore, ObJN at slfiore@mac.com.

We would like to hear from women, men, young, old, active ECW members, people who have no connection with ECW - in other words - everyone.
There are 2 websites for this survey to be done electronically and the deadline is June 30. Please consider clicking on, responding and submitting the survey so your voice can be heard. Questions? Contact Connie Ott at cott@chorus.net

Celebrating Mission and Development in the Diocese!
Did you know that there are eight congregations in the diocese who are in the midst of capital campaigns? These congregations are doing campaigns for a variety of different reasons, everything from debt retirement to building projects. The congregations are also choosing to do their campaigns in many different ways; some are using consultants and companies, others are managing the campaigns themselves. Regardless of how they are doing the campaigns and the reasons why, we celebrate the fact that so many churches are in the midst of exciting visioning and planning for their future! It is an exciting time for these congregations, and please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. For more information on capital campaigns please visit http://www.ecfvp.org/webinars/transformation-by-capital-campaign/ or The James Company website . If you have specific questions about campaigns in our diocese, please contact Peggy Bean at bean@diomil.org. |

Parish Financial Aid / Grant Applications now available!
by Peggy Bean, Canon for Parishes
In years past The Commission on Mission and Development offered Challenge grants for $1,000 and Meachem Fund grants for up to $5,000. This year we will have consolidated the two grants into one application - the 2014 Ministry Development Grant Application. It can be found on the website on the Mission and Development page.
We are offering Ministry grants up to $1,000 and Development grants up to $5,000. Check the application for details. Also note there are two different due dates - June 15th and October 15th. Camp Webb Update
Camp registration is FULL! Another successful year in filling camp registrations!
We need YOUR Support! We have campers who need scholarships, we have supplies that must be replaced from last year's flood damages, and we want to bring FOOD PACK to Camp this summer!
Camp Webb is asking for your generous support both financially and for collections. Camp cost is $375-$400 per camper. A $200 scholarship helps get one child to camp. We also want to bring the FOOD PACK program to camp this summer. This is a fantastic way for our campers to create food packs that are then shipped overseas to feed people. This is one way our campers make an immediate difference to change issues of hunger in the world. The cost to have the FOOD PACK program is $1,300. We are asking for your support to bring this incredible program to camp this year - THANK YOU!
Contact Carla to schedule donations pick up (mccook@diomi.org) and send financial contributions to Rev. Carla McCook, make check payable to Diocese of Milwaukee, Memo: Camp Webb, 804 E. Juneau Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
COLLECTIONS:
We are now collecting art supplies: glue, fabric paints, large bottles of art paints, construction paper, poster boards (all colors), embroidery threads/floss, safety pins, rice, markers, colored pencils, crayons, scissors (small, adult sized), printer paper, and magazines.
Also costumes pieces: anything you might expect to use in your pageant plays, super hero capes, silly hats, straw hats, cowboy hats (all kinds of hats), hula skirts, and princess crown, large robes, etc. Any type of clothing or accessory that would make a great costume piece. Our campers use these items for our variety show and other times during the camp week. Remember these are big kids and teens - costumes should be teen-adult sizes. If you have other items or ideas you think camp might be able to use, please contact Carla McCook at McCook@diomil.org
