On March 15th at All Saints' Cathedral in Milwaukee, Jana Troutman Miller was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons by The Rt. Rev. Steven A. Miller. Jana has been called to serve as chaplain at St. John's on the Lake retirement community in Milwaukee.

Hospitality ministry opportunity for parishes . . .

When school lets out for the summer, millions of low-income children lose access to a healthy school breakfast or lunch. USDA's Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) can help bridge the summer nutrition gap for children who depend on free or reduced price meals when they are in school. Last summer, of the 21 million students who ate free or reduced price school meals, only 3.5 million participated in a summer meals program.
USDA needs the help of many partners - state agencies, schools, local government, faith and community organizations and others -- to help improve children's access to this vital program. A key factor to serving more children will be expanding the number of feeding sites open to children.  Resource Center CLEARANCE!!
We are making room for new curriculum. That means there is curriculum that must be cleared out!
We have the All God's Creatures series, books and CD's, Living the Good News leader's guides and poster sets, and CELEBRATE - Children's Chapel series. All of these curriculum work on a lectionary based cycle. All are now only available online from their publishers.
If you would like to take home the book copies to be used in your parish with your children's formation program please notify Rev. Carla McCook and she can bring them to Clergy Day, Thursday, March 27th. These curriculum are all in good condition and can still be used in any parish.

Rest in peace . . .
 Long-time members of the diocese will remember Ethline Wright, widow of The Rev. Brian G. Wright, a priest of this diocese who last served at Elkhorn. Ethline died of a stroke on Wednesday, March 11th. Funeral will take place on April 12th at St. Paul's, Watertown (413 South Second Street, Watertown, WI 53094). Visitation will be held from 1:30-3:00 pm and the service will begin at 3:00 pm. Immediately following the service, a high tea will be held in the Guild Hall. For those wishing to send a message of condolence to Ethline's son, Mr. Peter Wright, his address is:

 Holy Living: A Diocesan Lenten Study

As Bishop Miller wrote in his Lenten Meditation, the season of Lent is a time for the faithful to take on a spiritual discipline rather than a season of giving something up. In our new Holy Living video series we invite folks to go deeper in spiritual disciplines. Each Sunday we'll post a new video introducing a new spiritual discipline, and invite you to put them into practice and try them out for the following week. Some of these practices may be new to you, while others may be long-practiced disciplines. Below each video, you'll see a link to the In-Formation blog, where you can participate by asking questions or commenting and encouraging others during this season of Holy Living. Tell us if you try these spiritual practices, and let us know how they enrich your Lenten journey! We hope that this Lenten study will support each of us as we practice Holy Living, to grow deeper in our relationship with our Lord.

Lectio Divina, "Sacred Reading," comes to us through the Benedictine tradition in which several hours each day were spent in reading (or being read to) from the Bible or the teachings of the Church Fathers. Its purpose is to allow our hearts and minds to be shaped by the Holy Spirit through our attention to God's word in scripture.

JAZZ FOR GOOD concert supports Training of Nurses in Diocese of Newala

JAZZ FOR GOOD Concert on Saturday, April 5 at 7pm at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, located at 6205 University Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin. Local jazz trio Chance Allies, with guest percussionist and clergy husband Phil Hassett (husband of The Rev. Miranda Hassett, rector of St. Dunstan's), will play jazz standards. Suggested donation $10, with all donations to go directly to supporting training for nurses in the Anglican Diocese of Newala, through the Diocese of Milwaukee's companion diocese relationship.
In Newala, in southern Tanzania, church-run health clinics provide much-needed care in poor, rural areas, but need more workers - and young church members can't afford vocational training. It costs $700 to train a nurse in Tanzania!

Taize Service March 23
The next Taize prayer service will be held at St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Waukesha on Sunday, March 23 at 7pm. The musicians of St. Matthias Episcopal, St. Joesph's Roman Catholic and other churches will combine to lead this service.St. Matthias Episcopal Church is located at 100 East Main in Waukesha. The corner of Main and East Ave.Interested choir members or musicians who wish to assist in the musical leadership should be to the church by 6:00 p.m. for the musician rehearsal. A light reception is planned after the service.
Taiz� is an international, ecumenical movement of prayer. Taiz� services are contemplative in nature and consist of music, readings, and periods of silence. Lenten services and events at St. Paul's, Milwaukee
The music of J. S. Bach will be incorporated into the Lenten practice at St. Paul's, Milwaukee, which is located at 914 East Knapp Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202. Guest speaker for adult education at 9:00 AM on Sundays, March 23 and April 6 will be The Rev. Dr. Daniel Westberg of Nashotah, who will discuss the St. Matthew Passion.
Following a light supper at 5:30 Tuesday evenings, devotions on March 25, April 1 and April 8 will consist of meditation time accompanied by selections from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier played by pianist Kathy Thome. There is no charge, but a call to the church office regarding supper would be appreciated (414-276-6277.) All are welcome.
Cathedral Institute: Lenten Series
At All Saints' Cathedral, 818 East Juneau Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53202 Thursdays in Lent: When we pray the Lord's Prayer, we say, "Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us." But how do we do that? Join Cathedral Institute every Thursday in Lent (March 13, 20, & 27, April 3 & 10) to participate in this year's Lenten series, which will focus on the concepts of love, forgiveness, justice, and reconciliation. Each evening begins with Evening Prayer at 5:00 p.m., followed by Eucharist at 5:30 p.m. and a Simple Supper at 6:00 p.m. The program begins at 6:45 p.m. Please sign up to bring dinner items at coffee hours each week.

We are full in the girls' registration, which is closed.
Campers must be age 8 and entering the 3rd grade in fall of 2014. Registration is $400 and after April 30th - $450.

 Commission on Global Reconciliation seeks your input!
Deacon Carol Smith, chair of the diocesan Commission on Global Reconciliation has announced that the Commission is soliciting input from diocesan clergy and laity as they prepare to recommend distribution of the diocesan 0.7% Millennium Development Goal Funds. The amount in this year's diocesan budget is $5,752(plus $5,000 which pays partial salary of the Coordinator of The Haiti Project.)
The Commission will be meeting in July to consider the ideas received from members of the diocese, and will send its recommendations for distribution of the funds to The Executive Council for deliberation at its August meeting.
