Camp Webb 2014 Now Hiring Summer Staff!

We are hiring male and female Head- staff counselors, Cabin - counselors, and Counselors-In-Training. Counselors must be high school graduates. Counselors-In-Training may be rising seniors in high school for fall 2014. Staff application Deadline - April 15th!! All staff must be able to attend and complete the entire week of staff training, June 15-20 and full week of camp, June 22-27.

Resident Manager
River Haven Homeless Shelter, located in Portage on the St John the Baptist Episcopal church campus, is currently looking to fill a live-in volunteer vacancy at the Men's Shelter. Free room and board is provided. Duties include, but are not limited to: ensuring residents are out of the shelter by 8 a.m., ensuring residents are back at the shelter by curfew, ensuring residents are following the shelter rules, checking residents for drug/alcohol use upon return to the shelter at night, supporting residents with community resources, as well as assisting the Woman/Family Shelter Case Manager administer the Portage-Area Community Assistance Program. This position is occasionally asked to provide these same services to the Woman/Family Shelter on a limited, as needed basis. Bishop Miller reminds both parishes and individuals that the First Sunday in Lent is ERD Sunday in the Diocese of Milwaukee!
In 2009 at the 162nd Annual Convention, the Diocese of Milwaukee adopted a resolution dedicating the first Sunday in Lent as Episcopal Relief and Development Sunday and calling for congregations and individuals to be encouraged to support Episcopal Relief and Development's life-saving work through prayer and a special offering that will help heal a hurting world. To help you celebrate Episcopal Relief & Development Sunday resources and guides for Episcopal Relief & Development Sunday are available atwww.episcopalrelief.org/sunday . Come at any of the viewing times, take 30 - 60 minutes or more to refresh your soul with these art meditations. All are welcome! Running keeps us centered and connects us to the One who created us and called us good, and we want to connect with others who feel the same way.
To that end, you are invited to join other runners from the Diocese of Milwaukee in running the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon on Sunday, October 5, 2014. We will gather as a group for a prayer and a photo before the run (details TBD).

Lay Eucharistic Visitors must be licensed with the diocese and also complete the Safeguarding God's People. Register online (see above).

 Commission on Global Reconciliation seeks your input!
Deacon Carol Smith, chair of the diocesan Commission on Global Reconciliation has announced that the Commission is soliciting input from diocesan clergy and laity as they prepare to recommend distribution of the diocesan 0.7% Millennium Development Goal Funds. The amount in this year's diocesan budget is $5,752(plus $5,000 which pays partial salary of the Coordinator of The Haiti Project.)
The Commission will be meeting in July to consider the ideas received from members of the diocese, and will send its recommendations for distribution of the funds to The Executive Council for deliberation at its August meeting. Parker Palmer's "Habits of the Heart" Online Learning Opportunity for Wisconsin Clergy
Are you concerned about the divisive climate in Wisconsin's civic life? Do you wonder how you and your congregation can play a constructive role in modeling a more life-giving approach to our differences in both church and the wider culture?
The Wisconsin Council of Churches, Edgewood College and Parker Palmer's Center for Courage and Renewal are piloting an 8-week online learning experience for up to 60 Wisconsin clergy focusing on Palmer's recent book Healing the Heart of Democracy: How to Create a Politics Worthy of the Human Spirit.
Beginning the week of March 3rd, the course - Habits of the Heart for Healthy Congregations - will include weekly video and print content for individual learning, and small group real-time interactive online discussion circles to explore the practices of congregational ministry utilizing Palmer's "Habits of the Heart."
