IN-FORMATION BLOG! |
After attending the 21st Century Faith Formation Conference in Colorado (Feb 2013) I got excited about learning how to blog. A blog is basically a journal digest on-line for others to read.
My IN-FORMATION BLOG will have a blog post each day for Camp Webb (June 9-21, 2013); a blog post each day on the Diocesan Mission Trip (June 30-July 6); and it will have Carla's Corner - a blog about Christian Formation and my thoughts/insights that I will share on an ongoing basis.
I invite you to check it out and follow along. You can also find a link on the diocesan website, www.diomil.org on the Christian Formation pages. |

Safeguarding God's Children & Safeguarding God's People In-Class Trainings and On-line |
Safeguarding God's Children
Summer Classes are completed. Our next schedule of Safeguarding God's Children Classes will be posted in August for the fall of 2013.
We may be making a Scheduled Trainings shift in the fall to hosting regional trainings in place of our current method of scheduling trainings, which is, as parishes ask for trainings. We want to be proactive and resourceful in these trainings for all the diocese.
ONLINE SGC and SGP CLASSES INFORMATION:
SGC is also available for renewal of certificate on-line!
Safeguarding God's People (SGP) is ONLY ONLINE.
Please note there will be no registrations for online courses in June & July. I apologize for any inconvience; but I'm away at Camp and Mission Trip in June and Sabbath and vacation in July.
You can always visit our website, www.diomil.org to view Master List of Attendees, Know Who's Required to take these trainings, and more information. |

Awesome New Reads! |
For Sharing & Teaching the Holy Eucharist with Children:
1. Life in the Eucharist: A Communion Program for children. It comes from the Anglican Church of Canada. It is a useful guide for structuring a series of classes. It was first published in 1986, but it has multicultural pictures and a kid friendly text.
2. This Bread & This Cup. By Mary Lee Wile, published by Living the Good News.
3. A Child's Guide to the Holy Eucharist, Rite II, a commentary by Sarah Horton, published by Morehouse. This is a neat because it gives the service on the right side and commentary on the left and explains the difference between the Eucharisitc Prayers.
4. Alleluia Amen is by Gretchen Pritchard and has cartoon style pictures that goes through the service.
5. A Eucharistic Manual for Children by Eileen Garrison and Gayle Albanese also published by Morehouse goes through Rite II and Baptism as well as Rite I. |

Carla's Corner |
I can't believe June is here! I feel like I've been swimming and barely keeping my head above the rising waters as Camp Webb has gotten closer and closer to start date. Along with camp, I've been working with a fabulous mission trip team to prepare for that trip.
But, here we are, June 7th and Staff week starts Sunday.
God has been so good! It has been obvious to me that God's Spirit has been alive and fevereshly working in me and all around me. When I was worried we might not have camp because registrations were low a miracle happened. Over night (it seemed) registrations doubled. We filled our capacity before late registration and I had to close registrations early.
When I was concerend I wouldn't have a staff (or a pool to draw from) Young Adults contacted me on FaceBook and through diocesan connections to apply to be on our staff. We even have two seminarians on our staff.
The Mission Team has been a fabulous group, planning for the trip, collection of school supplies, van rentals, creating the T-Shirts and helping plan the Vacation Bible School plans.
There is so much more that has happened and so many more people that have stepped up to help in little and big ways. For me, this is God at work, in my life and vocation, and through God's people. Thank you all.
Blessings to you!

REGS is a non-stipendiary staff person who is available to help congregations move through transition, assist them in discernment or challenge them as they move forward. He can make visits on Sundays and some weekdays. If you think a visit from him would be of use to you, don't hesitate to call and discover the ways in which he might help your parish. He is also assisting with other formation events throughout the year. He has a gift and call for cooking ministry which he tries to incorporate into all he does.
