Train Time Here and the Track's All Out of Line
Or: Spike Driver's Blues
Over the winter, we suffered some storm damage to the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. garden railroad. This feature attracts people to the shop grounds who -- believe it or not -- have virtually no interest in metaphysical or spiritual supplies, but who love model trains. It took such a big hit from a couple of Redwood branches that an entire trestle bridge was knocked out and the rails were bent to the point of being unusable. Our faithful M-O-W crew (consisting of Daniel Smith of DanielSmithRailraods.com) has completed the repairs, rebuilt the trestle, and gotten us (literally) back on track. Thank you, Daniel Smith! And, of course, that means that the ET&WNC is running again on Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. We will have big news about the new Crystal Caverns Mine line soon ...

Spells From the Sporting Life
The Sporting Life has been a vital part of hoodoo history. From working girls to gamblers and all those in between, the world of the demi-monde has been an important and often overlooked realm in which hoodoo has played an important part. PROFESSOR PORTERFIELD continues his mission to help bring to light those parts of hoodoo often forgotten about or deemed controversial. This year he will be presenting his new book "The Sporting Life: How to Help Yourself with Hoodoo and Rootwork, from the Streets to the Sheets" with a workshop on the Sporting Life old and new and how it still plays an important part in hoodoo and conjure. Come and hear how the prostitute, pimp, gambler, madam, LGBT community, and more have left the indelible imprint of the Sporting Life on the work we do.

North Asian Magic: Spellcraft from Manchuria, Mongolia, and Siberia
The folk magic of Mongolia, Manchuria, and Eastern Siberia is a vital and ongoing religio-magical practice by which people seek and obtain blessings, protection, luck, love, and health. David Shi, an American of Manchurian heritage, brings us authentic spells and methodologies from this remote corner of the world, and teaches us how to use the tools and techniques of North Asian magic. DAVID SHI will open your eyes to cultural customs and spell-casting methods that you may never have known existed, so an illustrated 96 page book will be provided for your home study.

Teas and Tisanes: Making Magical Potions and Infusions
Most rootworkers are comfortable putting a pinch of an herb in a mojo bag, but what you may not know is that there is a long history of conjure practitioners prescribing these same herbs as teas for their clients. MADAME PAMITA explains this ancient art and teaches you how to select appropriate edible magical herbs and roots to infuse into potent beverages for money, love, luck, protection, and health.

Our Hoodoo History: The Revival of the Occult Shop Pamphlet
As a historian of folk magic, CATHERINE YRONWODE has made it her mission to keep the continuity of African-American hoodoo front and center in the 21st century. This year she introduces a new reprint line from Lucky Mojo, starting with the most popular -- and longest out-of-print -- classic of candle and conjure shop literature. Instruction manuals of this type, much loved and often consulted by rootworkers from the 1890s through the 1990s, are now so rare that most newcomers to our community have never had a chance to learn the wondrous and practical methods they teach. Learn the history of these books, and take a trip back in time to read the secrets they contain.
TAKE-HOME: A brand-new 96-page restored and revised edition of "Legends of Incense, Herb and Oil Magic" by Lewis de Claremont from 1936.

Bone Reading: Mastering Groupings and Configurations
In this workshop MICHELE JACKSON will teach you how to interpret the bones when they fall into groups, rather than interpreting them each as individual pieces. Reading pieces in groups can enhance your reading skills by providing additional information about a particular bone. This allows the reader to describe people and actions in more detail, thus making the information more useful to the client. We will look at and interpret several sample groupings during the workshop.
TAKE-HOME: A two-page flyer describing the work, a bottle of homemade cleansing spray for your divination tools, a reading spine, and a Cougar bone.

The Four Branches of Crystal Magic: Scrying, Projection, Reception, and Transformation
JON SAINT GERMAIN, "The Voice of the Crystal Silence League" and host of the Crystal Silence League Hour on the LMC Radio Network, presents a practical introduction to the use of crystals and stones in the Four Branches of Crystal Magic: Divination or scrying with a crystal, Projection of prayers and spells through Silent Influence, Reception of blessings from the Divine and from friends, and Transformative healing and self-improvement work. Informed by the New Thought Movement of the early 20th century, during which time the Crystal Silence League was founded, and brought up to date by the use of a great array of magical minerals as allies and helpers, this workshop will provide you with the techniques and spells you need to become a practitioner of Crystal Magic.
TAKE-HOME: A brand-new 96-page book by Jon Saint Germain on how to work with crystals and stones, "Crystal Magic: Divination, Healing, and Spellcraft with Gems and Minerals."
