OBITUARY
Yronwode, Sophia
(b. 9/13/02 - d. 6/16/15)
Today we join together with the many who loved and appreciated the fluffy cuteness, presence, and eager watchfulness of Sophia 'Sophie' Yronwode, remembering her fondly as we bid our goodbyes to her in her passing. Her burial was attended by the Lucky Mojo Curio Company and Missionary Independent Spiritual Church staff and was held June 16, 2015 at the Shady Rest Pet Cemetery in the courtyard adjoining the shop and church.
Born Highwood Farm Stow-Away September 13, 2002, the daughter of CH Questar's Rocketman of Highwood and CH Highwood Mss Moneypenny, both Portuguese Water Dogs of Mount Vernon, Ohio, she was an accomplished acrobat and performer. She studied Obedience and Rally-O, and received a Canine Good Citizenship Award. A native of the astrological sign Virgo, she exhibited many traits of that group including organizational ability, neatness, punctuality, and attention to detail. She was a working dog, whose career embraced all aspects of customer service. Her daily tasks consisted of heralding, greeting, herding, therapeutic counselling, security, product demonstration, entertainment, dispute resolution, and social mediation. Her hobbies included collecting and displaying faux-fur squeaky toys, performing a vast repertoire of circus tricks for her adoring public, and parading to show off her beautiful black curly coat. She was a connoisseur of fine foods and a bon vivant who enjoyed sharing meals with companions and strangers alike. Sophie is survived by her pack-mates, nagasiva and catherine yronwode, and Copper Kitty, and many friends and acquaintances whom she met through her job as the Official Greeter at the Lucky Mojo Curio Company. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you remember Sophie with a contribution in her name to HopeForPaws.org.

 | Letter from the Editor | Summer is just around the corner here in New York City and the camaraderie, joy, and togetherness of the Hoodoo Heritage Festival was the absolutely perfect way to begin the waning of Spring.
It was a delight to see so many practitioners and observers of folk healing traditions come out to commune for a weekend together and to know that what was shared will not soon depart from our hearts and minds.
Whether you attended or not, I do hope you'll join us next year!
All the Love, Khi Armand

Everyone is saying the 2015 Hoodoo Heritage Festival was our best yet and, well, we have to agree! From our amazing presenters to our engaged attendees, this year's gathering just had something extra-special in the sauce.
Voices of Hyatt, this year's Opening Ceremony, started us off with a blessing from the Ancestors that was felt emotionally by all, setting the tone for a magical weekend of education, delicious food (courtesy of Mother Katrina and Backyard restaurant), and new friends from near and far.

We have been working hard to catch up on production and have hired three new people to help with order entry and product packaging. Everything is made by hand here, so training them will take some time, but let's hope they settle in happily and we get back on track filling orders in a timely manner! Wish us luck!
