MONTHLY HOODOO ROOTWORK CORRESPONDENCE COURSE
HOMEWORK GRADING PARTY! More than 1,900 people have enrolled in cat yronwode's Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course-- and to graduate, they must turn in 8 pieces of homework. Every month we hold a work-party at which we look over incoming homework. All are welcome, whether students or not! We meet at 5:00 PM at the shop, and PIZZA IS FREE. See how hoodooers do their thing!

The rains have arrived and we definitely need it! Although the land is wet and the water is falling, this hasn't dampened our spirits. It's warm in the shop and we are filling orders. Big things are happening around here with the launch of the LMC Radio Network and the beginning stages of planning the 2015 Hoodoo Heritage Festival. We are staying busy and having a good time to boot.

Attention Hoodoo Correspondence Course graduates! Do you want to take advantage of the opportunity to do some hands-on training supplemental to graduation from the Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course? Do you have a desire to become a professional rootworker or hone your rootworking skills? Do you dream about opening your own shop? Have you wanted to meet with other like-minded practitioners? Are you interested in visiting the beautiful land of Northern California?
Well you can do all of these things and more when you attend the Hoodoo Apprenticeship Program. The next Apprenticeship will take place in 2015, during the week of May 11th through May 15th.
During the week leading up to the Hoodoo Heritage Festival we will be offering the Week One Apprenticeship! Graduates of the Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course are invited to come and receive an in-depth folk magic education right here at Lucky Mojo under the direction of catherine yronwode and the Shop Manager, Heidi Simpson!
The Apprenticeship Program consists of nine lecture classes of 3 - 4 hours each, plus nine hands-on training sessions of 3 - 5 hours each, organized into three one-week training sessions.
Week One: Herbs, Candles, Special Waters
Week Two: Oils, Incense, Mojo Hands
Week Three: Baths, Sachets, Jack Balls
Apprentices need not take the three weeks of sessions in order. The Program is open to all graduates of catherine yronwode's Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course.
Upcoming Apprenticeship Week
May 11th - May 15th, 2015 - Week One Apprenticeship:
Monday: Herb Lecture, Identifying and Harvesting Herbs
Tuesday: Harvesting, Dehydrating, and Packing Herbs
Wednesday: Candle Lecture, Dressing Candles
Thursday: Labeling, Dressing, and Fixing Candles
Friday: Special Waters Lecture, Marking Special Waters
During the week there will also be opportunities to mingle, hang out, and share meals with the Lucky Mojo staff. More details on these events as the Apprenticeship gets closer.
There is NO COST for Apprenticeship training because it is conducted strictly on the basis of labor-for-labor trade. Over the course of a five day Apprenticeship Week, apprentices receive about 20 hours of lectures and hands-on training and in turn they perform about 20 hours of work for the shop. If you cannot sit or stand for a 40 hour work week, you should NOT attempt to attend this apprenticeship.
To join in the Apprenticeship Program you must be a Graduate in good standing of the Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course. Any graduate may take the Apprenticeship training, but it is especially recommended for those who wish to go on to work for clients or who want to start their own occult shop and would like to become familiar with the actual work involved with this. Course students who have not yet graduated are eligible for Apprenticeship training ONLY if they bring all of their homework with them the day before the Apprenticeship starts and if catherine passes it.
Apprentices are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement, to provide for their own room and board, and to attend all 40 hours of studying, learning, and making spiritual supplies.
Upon finishing all three weeks of the Apprenticeship over the course of three one-week sessions, a certificate is issued at no cost, signifying that the training was completed.

COMING SOON! In the next month or two the workshop instructors and presentation schedules will be announced. It is shaping up to be our best festival ever! We are also gathering an amazing list of readers and rootworkers that will be available for in-person readings over the weekend.
Missionary Independent Spiritual Church is already deep in the planning process. Stay tuned for the tickets to go on sale. Once again you will be able to purchase a full weekend pass or a pass for just Saturday or just Sunday.
Expand Your Library: Every year YIPPIE (the Yronwode Institution for the Preservation and Popularization of Indigenous Ethnomagicology) holds a fund-raiser book sale at the Hoodoo Heritage Festival. There are two large tables covered with interesting, and reasonably priced, used books, pamphlets, CDs, and DVDs. Most of these items are connected to occultism, divination, magic, religion, philosophy, and spirituality. In order to make this fundraiser effective we need YOUR HELP! We are sending out a call for donations of books to support this institution. You can mail books to YIPPIE in c/o Lucky Mojo, drop them off in the YIPPIE office next door to the Lucky Mojo shop, or bring them by during the weekend of the Hoodoo Heritage Festival and place them on the YIPPIE Book Sale tables.
New This Year: For the first time the Hoodoo Heritage Festival will be hosting a Crystal Silence League table. You will be able to pick up information on the CSL, learn about its origins, and how you might get involved with this free international prayer service, as well as purchase books and crystals to help your own prayer or crystal gazing process.

One Year of Facebook Fridays!

This month marks one year of doing Facebook Fridays! contests, and what a fun and successful year it has been. During this time we have handed out products ranging from Hot Foot Sachet Powder, to a Steady Work Spell kit, to Hoodoo Food Cookbooks, love products, money products, and on and on and on! Each week we offer a different product as a freebie and it has been a real success.
There have been 323 Facebook Fridays! winners. Each week there is more than one chance to win. Because each week we are awarding a range of products to winners, there are at least three each week. This amounted to over $4000 in hand-made spiritual supplies and books. We consider Facebook Fridays! to be a wild success and look forward to another year of fun prize-winners.

NEW CRYSTAL ALTAR PIECES

Just in stock -- and in limited supply -- we have some far-out altar pieces. Those of you who cast spells will understand immediately how useful these are, for the rest, we will break it down as simply as possible.
