I have been working long and hard on my new book,"The Art of Hoodoo Candle Magic," and that has caused me to fall behind on other projects, so, once again, this newsletter is getting by with a little help from our friends. The book is in the final stages of typesetting and illustration - and i think it will be a solid addition to anyone's magical library. Look for more about it next month.

I find it very interesting to see my world as others see it, and again i want to share with you all the world of Lucky Mojo, including some pictures from the May 2012 MISC Workshops, as seen through the artistic imagery of the talented Rootwork Course graduate "Coastside Conjure," formerly known as "Love Potion," and also known on Blog Talk Radio as "CandleMagic."

OCCULT THEME PARK?!
|
As i look through these images that Coastside Conjure has captured, i sometimes think our tiny shop - and make no mistake, folks -- the shop is SMALL! -- is a strange kind of theme park of the occult, the odd, and the unusual. So many things we sell are folkloric, hand-made, strange, brightly painted, and bizarre. I am grateful to Coastside Conjure for documenting the weirdness and the wildness of Lucky Mojo.

SATURDAY, December 29, 2012:
CAT YRONWODE BONE READING WORKSHOP, SANTA MONICA, CA
This is a special two-hour evening class event, as cat yronwode brings her latest book, "Throwing the Bones: How to Foretell the Future With Bones, Shells, and Nuts" -- along with materials for hands-on use and study -- to MADAME PAMITA'S PARLOUR OF WONDERS in Santa Monica, California. You will be introduced to many methods of bone reading, culminating in demonstrations of Sangoma bone throwing techniques. Starter sangoma sets plus rare bones of many species will be available for purchase as well.
DATE: DECEMBER 29, 2012 TIME: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Contact Madame Pamita:
Madame Pamita's Parlour of Wonders 2307 Main Street Santa Monica, CA 90405 310-310-0029 pamita@parlourofwonders.com http://parlourofwonders.com
YOU MUST REGISTER TO GET A PLACE; ADMISSION IS LIMITED.
Note: We will have SHAGAI SETS available at this workshop for the first time in about 5 years. These are made with Deer Astragalus bones, which are larger than sheep astragali, but are read in the same way. These deer shagai sets are limited in quantity, and as old Lucky Mojo hands know, our shagai sets always sell out quickly, and it can be years before they come back in stiock -- so if you are looking to learn this unique Mongolian form of bone reading, this may be your chance. Any shagai sets not sold at this workshop will be offered through the shop and online in January, 2013. ________________________________________________
