Staff News
A great many happenings at the 'Tree recently!

We've added several new drivers: Donald, Jesse and Julius.

Our sandwich kingdom has expanded to include Miqueias. Matthew and Jose have joined the dish crew. Jen has moved out from the office and is now in kitchen operations.

Josh has expanded his customer service crew by bringing in Jaime, and Leah has moved into the office from the Cafe.

Elise has taken over as cafe lead.

Welcome to all of our new staff! Congratulations to those who are moving up in the organization!

 

Soup-er Recipe:
Mushroom Barley Soup
yield: 1 gallon, serves 10-15 people

15 cups      Water

1½ cup       Barley 

 

2 cloves      Garlic (minced) 

2 Tbsp        Vegetable Oil 

½ tsp         Salt

pinch          Black pepper (ground) 

 cups     Onions (chopped)  

1¼ lbs.       Mushrooms (sliced) 

 

¾ cup         Tamari or Soy Sauce 

½ tsp         Thyme (dry)

 

Simmer barley in water for 1 hour or until tender.

 

While barley is cooking: Combine the oil, garlic, salt and pepper and use to saute onions until soft and translucent, ~10 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook another 5 minutes.

 

When barley is tender, pour mixture into pot with barley. Add tamari and thyme. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt & pepper to taste.
