Fall 2014

FALL IS FOR GIVING BACK AT BASIL TREE

COMMUNITY COOKS

I'm sure you know by now that giving back to our community is one of Basil Tree's favorite things to do.  This year we are continuing our efforts with , Community Cooks.  They pair groups of individuals and businesses with charitable organizations that need help feeding the populations they serve.

We help by providing dinner once a month to a group of students participating in an after school tutoring program.  Many of these students would otherwise go without dinner and we're glad to be a small part in changing that.

COMMUNITY SERVINGS

This will be our 19th year baking pies and our 3rd year selling them for Pie in the Sky!  This effort is to raise money for Community Servings, a local charity that prepares and delivers meals to critically ill, homebound individuals and families throughout Massachusetts.  Each year some of the best restaurants and bakeries in the area donate pies so that you can buy one!  The proceeds from one $28 pie will feed an ill individual for an entire week!

Purchase a pie and pick it up at one of the many locations around the city the day before Thanksgiving.  It is that easy!
