Supporting Community Efforts to
Effect Change

Not only does United Way invest in programs that make a difference, but with our Legacy Fund we are able to support community groups who work collaboratively to address issues. These Collective Impact Initiatives go beyond the work of any one program to get at the root cause of the issue. This year $15,000 from the Legacy Fund was invested in the High Risk Youth Coalition and Belonging
Delburne initiatives.

Unions and United Way - A Long History
of Working Together

Labour Unions and United Way have a long and rich history. At most United Ways, including Central Alberta, they work closely together because their goals are similar - being a positive force for social change by taking on issues important to their members and ensuring a safe, healthy community for everyone to enjoy.
What is food security?
We asked local dietitian with Alberta Health Services, Harrison Blizzard. He explained what food security is and how prevalent it is in Central Alberta.

The number of food insecure homes in our community will surprise you.
