Spring IS Coming...
and So Are the Weeds!

By the time you see this, we will be in the throes of a snowstorm-winter's last gasp. We hope. That said, this is Maryland, which means that this snow and cold could give way in a few days to warm temps and daffodils. One never knows around here.

Spring will show up and when it does, it will happen fast! And when spring does show up, so does the crabgrass and other lawn weeds. Get a jump on them before they establish by using a pre-emergent like HaltsŪ Crabgrass Preventer! Getting a pre-emergent on the ground from mid-March to early April will prevent the annual weed invasion that quickly takes over your lawn and will allow the grass to establish without competition.

Remember, the timing is critical! If you wait too long, the pre-emergent can't do its job, so you have a relatively narrow window of just a few weeks. A good rule of thumb is to put it down as soon at the forsythia blooms. Even if we get rain or snow afterwards, it doesn't make a difference, as it will still hang around to do its job!

K&B True Value also stocks organic crabgrass prevention. Ask one of our in-house experts.
