With only 1% of the all the water on Earth suitable for human use (the rest is salt or frozen), it's critical for all of us to use water wisely. Simple maintenance saves water -- a dripping hot water faucet can waste 2500 gallons of water a year. Mulching around plants and trees means they don't have to be watered as often. 84% of all household waste can be recycled. Every ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees. Recycling one ton of plastic saves the equivalent of 1,000-2,000 gallons of gasoline.
