Tips for Youth on Money Management
With summer youth employment gearing up, the Urban Affairs Coalition's Community Economic Development (CED) department has a series of workshops designed to help young adults learn the basics of financial management. We want to encourage young adults to avoid check cashing agencies and payday lending loans. These services guarantee fast cash but result in high costs.
CED's Financial Program Manager, Shayna Lear suggest young adults open a free account at a credit union to begin their path to financial success. Lear advises young adults to follow these four financial steps as they think about money: spend some, save some, share some, and invest some. |
