Obama held a conference call with UAC President, Sharmain Matlock-Turner, PYN President Stacy Holland, PCCA Director of Diversity Tiffany Newmuis and other Philadelphia leaders to discuss Philadelphia's Summer Employment 10,000 Jobs Campaign. The overall goal of this campaign is to increase youth employment opportunities by growing the number of employers, partners and investors connected to the WorkReady Program, the city's youth employment and career preparation program managed by the Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN). Visit www.phillysummerjobs.org to learn how you can support the campaign!
UAC's Youth Division offers paid summer job opportunities to youth and young adults ages 14-21. Last summer UAC placed 535 young people through WorkReady Philadelphia and an additional 165 young people in UAC internships. This year without your help, UAC will have far less jobs and internships available for Philadelphia's teens. Visit www.uac.org to make a donation to our summer employment programs.
