Financial Literacy Month

 

 

In recognition of National Financial Literacy Month, the Community and Economic Development Division of the Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC) is hosting workshops in April to teach Philadelphians - young and old - how to establish and maintain healthy financial habits. The presentations cover an array of topics, highlighting the importance of financial capability and equipping participants with the knowledge to make sound financial decisions. Youth Summer Employment Opportunities!!!
 
UAC's Youth Division offers paid summer job opportunities to youth and young adults ages 14-21 that provide career exposure, resume and interview preparation, wardrobe-outfitting services, on-the-job mentoring, 21st century workforce skills training and a practical understanding of the working world. Applicants must reside in the City of Philadelphia. The Coalition's recruitment and selection process begins on or after April 10, 2013, Mondays-Fridays from 9:30am- 4:00pm. SAVE SUMMER JOBS -- Last summer UAC placed 535 young people through WorkReady Philadelphia, the city's youth employment and career preparation program managed by the Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN), and an additional 165 young people in UAC internships. This year without your help, UAC will have only 421 jobs and internships available for Philadelphia's teens. Visit www.uac.org to make a donation to our summer employment programs.
