Jeff Gentes of the CT Fair Housing Center met with Mayor John Picard of West Haven to discuss foreclosure prevention efforts.

Out of this meeting, The ROOF Project created an informational flyer to be distributed throughout the entire West Haven public school system. The ROOF Project is attempting to establish a similar outreach effort in the 14 remaining cities and towns it represents.

 Foreclosures by Town: 2011 v. 2012

2011 v. 2012

Connecticut Housing Finance Authority has not yet released 2012 Quarter 4 foreclosure data. The ROOF Project has created this image which compares Q1-Q3 of 2011 and Q1-Q3 of 2012. Foreclosure rates increased tremendously in 2012 in our region. The title of the graph "Lis Pendens Filings" refers to the initial notice sent to homeowners in the foreclosure process. For details, see www.chfa.org.

Thanks for staying in the loop!
