Melina of Daughters of Rhea teaches ongoing belly dance classes of all levels at Moody Street Circus: there is something for everyone, even brand-new beginners! DROP IN ANYTIME FOR $20 DRILLS, SKILLS 'N ZILLS (Mixed level class): Tuesdays at 7 pm. & Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. BELLY DANCE CHOREOGRAPHY (intermediate/advanced) Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. BEGINNING BELLY DANCE Thursdays at 6:45 p.m. Come Shimmy and have fun!  MULTI-MEDIA HISTORY OF BELLY DANCE LECTURE! THEATRICALIZED SKIRT DANCING ~ TURKISH ROMANY DANCE ~ TURKISH ORIENTAL WORKSHOPS! SHOW WITH THE FRED ELIAS ENSEMBLE!!! Artemis has been dancing, teaching, and researching dance history in the U.S. and abroad for her entire adult life. Of Greek and Turkish descent, Artemis fuses her love of these cultures with deep academic knowledge and excellent dance technique to present compelling, spirited workshops that include information on the history and cultures that generate the dances. She believes that we can all use art to build bridges across cultures. Artemis has contributed to many publications. Her travel to 33 countries and intensive research into the idioms of the East, women's issues, psychology, ancient history, Oriental dance, Romany (Gypsy) dance, and dance ethnology have yielded many manuscripts and articles. Artemis holds an M.A. in psychology and an M.S.W. in social work with specialized studies in cross-cultural awareness. You don't want to miss your chance to study with the amazing Artie!
