Nothing ... nothing ... then Boom!
"All good things come to those who wait" is not in the Bible, but it reflects biblical teaching on patience, and the need to trust the Lord's timing (see Lam 3:25-26, Rom 8:28). After almost a year of waiting, suddenly everything exploded.
First, my article "Which Site is Sodom?" was finally published. You can read it online at: Which Site is Sodom? I evaluate the two possible archaeological sites for the city of Sodom, and explain why I favor one site over the other. Read it and prepare to have your mind blown! Or it may put you to sleep. It is written in an academic style, so I am looking at writing a shorter, more readable version. I already have a concise, engaging presentation on Sodom that I have been sharing in churches and small groups.
Second, because of my article I was asked to participate in a documentary about the archaeological site, Tall el-Hammam. So, I have just returned from Albuquerque, NM where I was interviewed by a film team. This is a secular British film company that has produced historical documentaries for Discovery channel, among others. I do not know yet where or how you can view this documentary, and I'm sure they will edit my contribution down to about a minute, but I'll keep you updated as I find out more details.
Third, I have written another article relating to the time of the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. It looks like this article will be published in the same journal as my first article. I am getting feedback from other scholars before I publish it.
But, wait, there's more! I was also asked if I would allow my two articles to be chapters in a forthcoming book. That decision took me about a millisecond. "Let me thi... Yes!"
